N THE HEIGHTS star and Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez and Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis will host AN INTIMATE THEATER EVENING, the 14th annual benefit for the A-T Children's Project which will be held at The Clark Studio Theatre at Lincoln Center (in the Samuel B. and David Rose Building, Seventh Floor, 70 Lincoln Plaza) on Monday, January 19th, 2009 at 8pm.

Twenty-one St. Louis theater companies are represented in the nominations for the fourth annual Kevin Kline Awards. Forty-two plays and musicals produced in the St. Louis area during 2008 now share 113 nominations in 22 different categories for the coveted award. The nominations were announced on KWMU-FM's 'Cityscape' today, January 16th, 2009. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis received the most nominations, 32, divided among seven different productions that were presented on its mainstage, and in both the Studio and Off-Ramp series. The Muny was the second-highest recipient, with 15 nominations. Stages St. Louis was the third theater to receive double-digit nominations, with 13. The satirical comedy The Little Dog Laughed, which was produced by the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis as part of its Off-Ramp series, received the most nominations (8), followed by seven nominations for My Fair Lady at the Muny. Eighty-two actors, directors, choreographers, playwrights and designers received nominations. Six artists received multiple nominations.

The Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation and Performance Space 122 have announced the US premiere of the critically-acclaimed production of EIGHT, written and directed by Ella Hickson, as part of Performance Space 122's COIL Festival. EIGHT begins performances on Tuesday, January 6 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 25 at Performance Space 122 (150 First Avenue, at East 9th Street).

Paul Leschen and Fred Sauter's new musical about a futuristic plague of mutant hair metal bedbugs is a hilarious romp with some kickass tunes. Currently part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF).

Due to popular demand and sold out performances, BEDBUGS!!! one of the most talked-about shows in this year's NYMF has just been extended. Additional performances will be Thursday, September 25th (4:30pm) and a special late night performance, Saturday, September 27th (11:00pm). 80's rock excess meets the Creature Feature in this hilarious, hard-rocking new musical by Paul Leschen and Fred Sauter directed by Samuel Buggeln. The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Leschen, Mrozek & Sauter present the world premiere of BEDBUGS!!!, an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's 2008 Next Link Project.

Rachel Tucker of the BBC's 'I'd Do Anything' will star as Meat in the Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre starting September 22nd.

We Will Rock You will conclude its hugely successful Toronto run on May 11. A Canadian tour is being planned.

According to BBC News Online, Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that a sequel to We Will Rock You- the rock musical based on Queen's songs- is in the works. While speaking at a formal ceremony to install him as the Chancellor of John Moores University May said, 'We are planning a sequel. It's a real challenge.'

After playing more than one year of performances at Toronto's Canon Theatre, We Will Rock You announces its final extension through May 11, 2008. The new and final block of tickets will go on sale Sunday March 16, 2008.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the casts and directors of the eight musicals for its 19th Annual Festival of New Musicals to be held at New World Stages (340 West 50th St between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Sunday, October 7 and Monday, October 8, 2007.

The third season of the acclaimed 'Monday Nights, New Voices' series continues September 10 at 7PM at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Coleen Sexton will host the evening featuring the talents of Michael Buchanan, Mitch Dean, Mark Fisher, Samantha Massell and Patti Murin. Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, Tony-nominated for there book and score of Broadway's The Wedding Singer, will be the evening's guest composer/lyricist team.

The hit Toronto production of WE WILL ROCK YOU has now extended to November 4, 2007. The new block of tickets will go on sale Saturday August 11, 2007.
