The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company launches its 80th anniversary season with an epic musical adventure. MAN OF LA MANCHA begins performances on JUNE 28 with all of the fanfare one would expect from Vermont's longest-running professional theatre company. A bold and charismatic cast comes together with a renowned creative team to present Cervantes' legendary tale on the company's historic MainStage.

On this week's episode, with composer Michael Mott ('Where the Sky Ends'), we drink manhattans in sippy cups and  spill about Bright Star, the national treasure that is Carmen Cusack,The Color Purple, and how when Cynthia Erivo opens her mouth we all weep. We pour one out for Tuck Everlasting and American Psycho, Kimberly tells her sweet Hamilton engagement story, and Kevin does his best impression of Mandy Patinkin singing The Color Purple. The production opened just last night, March 13, at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). On Monday, February 15, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present a reunion concert of the 2012 Nashville production of THE NUTTY PROFESSOR, a musical written by Rupert Holmes and the late, great Marvin Hamlisch, and directed by Jerry Lewis. Tonight at Birdland - for the first time since it debuted in Nashville in 2012 - a New York audience will finally have the opportunity to hear Marvin Hamlisch's final theatrical score for Nutty Professor, the musical based on the iconic Jerry Lewis film.

Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. On February 15 (7PM), The Broadway at Birdland concert series will present the award-winning cast of the 2012 world premiere production of Nutty Professor, the musical written by Rupert Holmes and the late, great Marvin Hamlisch. Julius Kelp, the social-misfit egghead college Professor, becomes committed to changing himself for the better after meeting progressive and idealistic transfer student Stella Purdy. He concocts a potion that transforms him into crooner, the suave and slick Buddy Love. His radical solution for a personal upgrade works, but not as he predicted. Nutty Professor has a book and lyrics by Tony winner Rupert Holmes and music by the late Tony winner Marvin Hamlisch, who died unexpectedly during the world premiere Nashville run.
