Today, Creative Time raises artist Rirkrit Tiravanija's Pledges of Allegiance flag, Untitled 2017 (fear eats the soul) (white flag). The flag will be on view at twenty-one cultural institutions and universities across sixteen states: California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Texas.
Sarasota Opera is pleased to announce the line-up for the 2018 season of 'HD at the Opera House' and "Classic Movies at the Opera House". This weekly series of filmed performances has allowed Sarasota Opera to expand its programming from the fall and winter season to year-around. The 2018 "HD at the Opera House" series will open on Sunday, May 20th and run through September 30th and will include presentations of Ballet and Theater from some of the world's most famous venues and companies including the Royal Opera House; Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Royal Shakespeare Company; Vienna State Opera; and the Royal Ballet. Each presentation will begin at 1:30pm.

The show will open at Paris Las Vegas with preview performances beginning May 23 and a grand opening June 1, just in time for Marilyn's birthday. The first comprehensive exhibition on this important American artist and member of the Mad River Band Wiyot tribe, Rick Bartow: Things You Know But Cannot Explain examines forty years of the artist's work across a variety of media. On view from May 12, 2018, through January 6, 2019, at the Autry Museum of the American West, the deeply personal exhibition references and responds to the impact of colonization while emphasizing Bartow's contributions to art history and his role in pushing contemporary art in directions both cultural and inclusive.
