The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of PLOT POINTS IN OUR SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT began rehearsals this Tuesday, September 11. PLOT POINTS IN OUR SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT, by the emerging new playwright Miranda Rose Hall, to be directed by Margot Bordelon, will begin performances Saturday, October 6, open on Monday, October 22, and run through Sunday, November 18 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Final Casting Announced For Vineyard's GOOD GRIEF

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce complete cast for the New York premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu's GOOD GRIEF, directed by Awoye Timpo. Performances will begin at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) Thursday, October 11 with opening night set for Tuesday, October 30th.

MRT Opens 40th Season with NATIVE GARDENS

September 12, Karen Zacarias' topical comedy Native Gardens will kick off a season of cutting-edge contemporary voices, including three world premieres and five plays by women, in celebration of Merrimack Repertory Theatre's 40th Anniversary, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the D.C.-area premiere of Turn Me Loose, Gretchen Law's intimate, no-holds-barred drama about the extraordinary and explosive life of Dick Gregory, who spent his later years in the nation's capital. Turn Me Loose chronicles Gregory's rise as the first Black comedian to expose audiences to racial comedy; in confronting bigotry head-on with biting humor and charm, Gregory turned activism into an art form. "Scorchingly funny and brilliant" (The New York Times), Turn Me Loose, directed by John Gould Rubin, runs September 6-October 14, 2018 in the Kreeger Theater.

RJLE Films Acquires THE STANDOFF AT SPARROW CREEK

RLJE Films (NASDAQ: RLJE) has acquired all North American rights to The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, the upcoming thriller from CINESTATE and XYZ Films. Written by Henry Dunham who is also making his feature directorial debut, the film stars James Badge Dale (13 Hours), Chris Mulkey (Captain Phillips), Brian Geraghty (NBC's “Chicago P.D”.), Robert Aramayo (HBO's “Game of Thrones”), Patrick Fischler (Showtime's “Twin Peaks”), Happy Anderson (Cinemax's “The Knick”) and Gene Jones (The Hateful Eight). The Standoff at Sparrow Creek will make its world premiere at Midnight Madness at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.  RLJE plans to release the film nationally in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD in early 2019.

Vermont Shakespeare Festival Presents MARY STUART

Vermont Shakespeare Festival will present the U.S. premiere of a new version of the only classical play starring two women in power, Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart.  It will be presented as a staged reading, the latest in the Salon Series, on Saturday, October 6th at 7 p.m. at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, and on Sunday, October 7th at 3 p.m. in the McCarthy Recital Hall at St. Michael's College.  This is a rarely seen epic in a fresh and lean adaptation.

Jeremy O. Harris Receives 2018-19 Vineyard Theatre Paula Vogel Playwriting Award

Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that Jeremy O. Harris is the recipient of the 2018-19 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award. Mr. Harris will be presented with the award at The Vineyard's annual Emerging Artists Luncheon on Friday, October 12 from noon-2:30pm at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. Paula Vogel will speak at the event.

The world of the play and the novel overlap and become one, as John physically enters his book and the stage is overtaken by both realities, making both him and the audience question their interpretation of events. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the play's world premiere August 26 to September 4.
