The Dallas Opera is extremely proud to present the season opener of the company's grand 2018-2019 "Swept Away" Season: Richard Wagner's haunting nineteenth-century masterpiece, The Flying Dutchman (Der fliegende Hollander), a work not seen on The Dallas Opera stage since January of 1994.

Up next at Epic Theatre Ensemble is the world premiere of The Winning Side, a new play by James Wallert. Based on the true story of Wernher von Braun, Chief Rocket Engineer for the Third Reich and one of the fathers of the United States space program, The Winning Side explores the hidden history behind America's 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing.

Pigs Do Fly Productions presents an upcoming encore production of Norm Foster's The Ladies Foursome, which will open at Empire Stage on October 4th, and run through October 21st. The Ladies Foursome played to consistently sold out houses when it ran at Empire Stage in March/April 2018.

AFI FEST presented by Audi will close with the World Premiere of Focus Features and Working Title's MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS.  Directed by Josie Rourke and written by Academy Award® nominee Beau Willimon, the historical drama is based on John Guy's biography, “Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart.”  The film stars Academy Award® nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, along with Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Martin Compston, Ismael Cordova, Brendan Coyle, Ian Hart, Adrian Lester, James McArdle, David Tennant and Guy Pearce.  The Closing Night Gala will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.

Vermont Shakespeare Festival's premiere of a new version of Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart features regional actresses Jena Necrason and Sorsha Anderson in the roles of Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots. It will be presented as a staged reading, the latest in the Salon series, on Saturday, October 6, 7:30 p.m. at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, and Sunday, October 7, 3 p.m. in the McCarthy Recital Hall at St. Michael's College. This production is a regional premiere of a rarely seen epic in a fresh new and lean adaptation; the film version opens in December 2018 starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.

What happens to the Bennet sisters after the events in Pride and Prejudice? Jane Austen fans can find out for themselves in the romantic comedy MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY, beginning at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Oct. 13. The Marx Theatre production runs through Nov. 10 (Opening night is Oct. 18.)

Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present, Inherit the Wind, an American play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, which debuted in 1955. The story fictionalizes the 1925 Scopes 'Monkey' Trial as a means to discuss the then-contemporary McCarthy trials.

Written by Jason Murphy (The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen) and directed by Phillip Guzman (Dead Awake), SLEEP NO MORE stars Keli Price (“Side Effects”), Lukas Gage (Assassination Nation), Yasmine Aker (12 Strong), Brea Grant (“The Arrangement”), Stephen Ellis (“You're the Worst”) and Christine Dwyer (“Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert”). RLJE Films will release SLEEP NO MORE on DVD for an SRP of $27.97.

The D.C.-area premiere of Turn Me Loose, Gretchen Law's intimate, no-holds-barred drama about the extraordinary and explosive life of Dick Gregory, will receive an additional six performances during its run at Arena Stage. Under the direction of John Gould Rubin, Turn Me Loose now plays through October 21, 2018 in the Kreeger Theater.

The creative team has been confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the Signature Theatre production of Thom Pain (based on nothing), by Drama Desk Award-winning playwright Will Eno and directed by Obie Award-winner Oliver Butler.

Radio Galaxy, a new play by Michele Aldin Kushner, will be performed at invitation-only readings on Thursday, September 27 at 11am and 3pm and Friday, September 28 at 2pmat the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street). Radio Galaxy is directed by Mark Waldrop and produced by Margot Astrachan.
