Lena Dunham has joined the cast of ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also joining the Quentin Tarantino film are Austin Butler, Lorenza Izzo, and Maya Hawke, the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.

Natascia Diaz, Claybourne Elder, and Steffanie Leigh are starring in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Passion at Signature Theatre. This new production is directed by Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner(Signature's Sunday in the Park with George, West Side Story). John Lithgow will star as Roger Ailes, the Fox News chief who masterfully exploited the country's political divisions to rise to the top of the cable news heap, in an upcoming film, according to Variety. TheAnnapurna film will revolve around the sexual harassment scandal that ended Ailes career.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce dates and casting for the New York premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu's GOOD GRIEF, directed by Awoye Timpo. Performances will begin at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) Thursday, October 11 with opening night set for Tuesday, October 30th.

City Theatre launches its new season with an all female cast and creative team for the Pittsburgh premiere of America's most produced playwright from 2017, Lauren Gunderson, and her hysterical and historical comedy, The Revolutionists. While set during France's Reign of Terror (1793-94), it is a timely treatise for the United States today as it celebrates four badass women out to change the world. 

Town Hall Theatre 'Lost & Found' Season 2018/19 opens with  the Bay Area Premiere of THE REVOLUTIONISTS, a bold and irreverent new  comedy by Lauren Gunderson.  THE REVOLUTIONISTS will have 12 performances, including two previews, September 27 through October 20, 2018, at Town Hall Theatre Company, 3535 School Street, in Lafayette, CA.  Tickets are $18 - $30, and are available through the Box Office at (925) 283-1557 or online at www.TownHallTheatre.com. 

Today Netflix released the first trailer and official key art for season 2 of critically acclaimed original series Atypical, returning September 7.

RLJE Films has acquired all North American rights to the upcoming horror film All the Creatures Were Stirring. Written and directed by David Ian McKendry (The Dump) and Rebekah McKendry (The Barista), known for their amazing work at Fangoria and Blumhouse, the film stars Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, "Fresh Off the Boat"), Amanda Fuller ("Orange is the New Black"), Jonathan Kite ("2 Broke Girls"), Jocelin Donahue (Insidious: Chapter 2) and Graham Skipper (The Mind's Eye).  RLJE plans to release the film on VOD, Digital and DVD on December 4, 2018.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its 56th season with its third Main Stage production, Blithe Spirit. Veteran company member Victoria Mack, who was last seen on the Main Stage in this season's Tartuffe, will make her STNJ directing debut. Company favorites Brent Harris, Tina Stafford, Ames Adamson, and Susan Maris will be joined by Kate MacCluggage of The 39 Steps fame in this delightful British comedy by Noel Coward. Dial M for Murder is a play that will begin showing at Parkway Playhouse on August 25th-September 8th. Directed by Michael Lilly, Parkway Playhouse's production features Andie Morganlander, Strother Stingley, Luke Haynes, Mike Yow, and Alesa Bryant Laws. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm through September 8th.

This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

American designer Amsale Aberra will be honored posthumously for her contributions to the world of couture by the Harlem School of the Arts at the Herb Alpert Center for the Arts. She will receive the Visionary Lineage Award and is among several high profiled members of the artistic community, whose contributions will be acknowledged during the organization's 2018 Masquerade Ball and After Party, to be held at the New York Plaza Hotel on October 22nd.

RAISED BY GAYS AND TURNED OUT OK! is a one-person show written and performed by Elizabeth Collins, comedian and storyteller. 'Raised by Gays' debuted at the Hollywood Fringe Festival to rave reviews. Jason Rohrer, critic for Bitter Lemons said '...it's extremely funny. Collins writes of family drama with the wry observation of a David Sedaris and the understatement of a Sarah Vowell...' The show has since been to Houston, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Bakersfield.

Gee whiz, Bretton Reis is such a nice guy. Ask anyone. But watch him in "Dial M for Murder" on the Hackmatack Playhouse stage in Berwick for the next three weeks and you will see the epitome of evil in a character willing to do anything to get 90,000 pounds, including kill his wife.

September 12, Karen Zacarias' topical comedy Native Gardens will kick off a season of cutting-edge contemporary voices, including three world premieres and five plays by women, in celebration of Merrimack Repertory Theatre's 40th Anniversary, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Guillaume Enard and Jonathan Delerue's medieval tale 'By Blood' focuses on a man who feels his dark past is catching up to him. This incredible film has already won awards and has been selected to play at the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival. By Blood stars Jonas Bloquet (The Nun, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, 3 Days to Kill), Anne Charrier (Prêtes à tout) and Pascal Greggory (La Vie En Rose).

Director Gary Locke of Merrimack, NH, has long wanted to stage a play in black & white. So when the folks at Hackmatack Playhouse asked him to direct "Dial M for Murder," he saw this as his opportunity.
