Valentina Kozlova's International Ballet Competition 2016 is April 25-3 at Symphony Space, 95tStreet & Broadway.  The event is dedicated toViolette Verdy. The beloved ballerina, choreographer, teacher, and writer was an early mentor of VKIBC and Valentina Kozlova.   Ms. Verdy was a judge in the first edition of VKIBC and later a competition honorary chairman.

Tommy Tune hosted the The 7th Annual Career Transition For Dancers' Heart & Soul Gala at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, PURCHASE COLLEGE is pleased to present STATE STREET BALLET'S CARMEN, choreography by William Soleau, music by George Bizet, and musical arrangement by Rodion Shchedrin. The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC 2016) is dedicated to Violette Verdy, a wonderful human being as well as an early mentor of VKIBC and Valentina Kozlova. Ms. Verdy was a judge in the first edition of VKIBC and later a competition honorary chairman. Valentina Kozlova's Dance Conservatory Company returns to Symphony Space with Kozlova's delightful new production of Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker Winter Suite,' running slightly over one hour - two performances Saturday December 5 at 3 PM & 5:30 PM.   Performers are drawn from Kozlova's midtown ballet school and include several remarkable young dancers who have won medals in ballet competitions around the world.
