There are days when I have to pinch myself to the things that I get lucky enough to cover. Most recently, I was invited to see a new show that is being produced by Academy/Grammy/Tony Award winning, lyricist/composer/producer, Stephen Schwartz, in a partnership with Princess Cruise Lines.

Who knew that Emmy, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, OBIE Award Winning, 3x Tony Award nominated, Lyricist/Composer, David Yazbek, and Emmy Award Winning, comedian, writer, actor, Ted Greenberg, were best friends? Who would have thought after all of these years that these best friends would be simultaneously having their art represented on New York City stages around the same time?

Seasoned Broadway General Manager, Peter Bogyo, takes some time out of his insanely busy schedule to talk to me about his new book, BROADWAY GENERAL MANGER: Demystifying the Most Important and Least Understood Role in Show Business.

Of course to use some of the phrases like the 'cats pajamas' or 'hip cat', feels like something form the beatnik period, but highly sought after Music Producer/Conductor/Arranger, James Sampliner, is exactly that.

Comedian, actress, Comedy Central roaster, fellow podcaster, and now playwright, Lisa Lamapanelli, takes time out of her busy schedule of touring and writing to talk to me about her upcoming Off Broadway Play, STUFFED.

I had the great honor and pleasure to talk to the legendary Pulitzer Prize winning, Tony and Grammy Award winning, lyricist, Sheldon Harnick, and his lovely, celebrated photographer, actress, singer, dancer, wife, Margery Harnick, about their lovely collaboration on a book about the koi fish, with their son, Matthew Harnick. We talk not only about the photographic book and Mr, Harnick's brilliant, storytelling Haiku poetry, but we talk about his amazing career.

Margery Gray Harnick and Matt Harnick have joined their talents for photography with Sheldon Harnick's lyrical writing to publish 'Koi: A Modern Folktale', available today, June 21, 2017.

Sheldon Harnick wrote the words for the songs in Fiddler, The Rothchilds, and lyrics for many other historic tunes, but he also wrote the words in a new book of photographs by his wife Margery Gray and son Matt Harnick.  The book was launched at a party attended by lots of his Broadway friends at TAO  in NYC and Broadwayworld was there.  Like his songs, the photographs in KOI are a thing of beauty and create wonderful feelings.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom ("The Rose"), who made her Birdland debut with a concert celebration of her new CD, "Voices' on Monday, June 5.

The 90th Macy's Day parade balloons will not pass by the Friars Club on 55th street but the celebrity guests at the club got to see some great photos of them yesterday at the club.  Sheldon and Margery Harnick hosted a Book Launch Party for Matt Harnick who has a wonderful new book © Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: A New York City Holiday Tradition, Rizzoli N.Y. 2016, which is filled with exclusive photography by Matt, along with archival images of the spectacular floating balloons.  The book offers a never-before-seen look at the planning and preparation of the parade.  Italy features text by Stephen M. Silverman, Foreword by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Afterword by Terry J. Lindgren, Chairman & CEO of Macy's Inc. in conjunction with this milestone anniversary.  The guests in the Milton Berle Room of the Friars Club were also treated to a performance by Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin and a conversation with Sheldon Harnick, Matt Harnick and Amy Kule, Executive Producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It was a great afternoon and it was nice and warm watching the parade go by inside the club.

To life! The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF just opened Sunday night, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), wrapping up the 2015 Broadway season. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter. Yesterday, November 10, 2014, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) celebrated its annual gala. This year the organization honored Jules Fisher, Lynn Nottage, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. The performances included previews of two productions from TCG Member Theatres: A Walk on the Moon (New York Stage and Film) and Immediate Family (About Face Theatre, Center Theatre Group, and the Goodman Theatre).
