Critically acclaimed playwright Christie Perfetti Williams's new play, THE MAGAZINE, will have its World Premiere at The Chain Theatre in Midtown Manhattan. The timely drama which is mixed with comedy will have a limited run, April 2 - 11. Opening night is slated for Thursday, April 2. Williams's recent New York City productions include The Werewolf of Washing Heights (Carnival Girls Productions) and An Appeal to the Woman of the House (Retro Productions).

Fringe and Fur will premiere The Hopelessly Hopeless Story of All Good Girls at The Brick Theater in Williamsburg. This production will announce The Brick's inaugural season under new artistic leadership.

59E59 Theaters presents the world premiere of A WOMAN OF THE WORLD written by Rebecca Gilman and directed by Valentina Fratti. Produced by The Acting Company in association with Miranda Theatre Company, A WOMAN OF THE WORLD begins performances on Thursday, October 24 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 17. Press Opening is Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 pm. The performance schedule is Tuesday a?' Friday at 7:30 pm; Saturday at 2:30 pm & 7:30 pm; and Sunday at 2:30 pm. Please note the following added performances: Thursday, November 7 and Thursday, November 14 at 2:30 pm. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison). On Monday, September 16, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation announced the 2019 recipients at the annual Off-Off-Broadway IT Awards. For the past 15 years, the It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative indie theatre community under the dedicated leadership of Executive Directors Shay Gines and Nick Micozzi who are stepping down and at the ceremony introduced new leadership for the organization: Cat Parker, Artistic Director of Articulate Theatre Company; Ariel Estrada, Producing Artistic Director of Leviathan Lab Projects; and Jazmyn Arroyo, Co-Founding Artistic Director of Step 1 Theatre Project will join Akia Squiteri, Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company as Directors of the organization.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Awards, announced the 2019 nominees for the annual Off-Off-Broadway awards. The It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative theatre community for the past 15 years.  The official announcement took place at (Le) Poisson Rouge by six celebrated artists and producers from the community including: Jazmyn Arroyo, Jennifer Betite Yen, Iyvon Edebiri, Chris Ignacio, Ashley Rogers, and Erez Ziv.

Award-winning and critically-acclaimed Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC - Jesse Marchese, Executive Director; Dev Bondarin, Artistic Director) kicks off its 18th mainstage season with the New York premiere of Queen by Madhuri Shekar, directed by J. The play, set in present-day rural Tennessee, a group of broken, Pentecostal outcasts find solace, understanding, and strength in one another as they wrestle with their own serpents and discover their divinity.
