The season kicks off with Shakespeare's twisted, fairy-tale take on romantic comedy All's Well That Ends Well, opening July 13. Next is Shakespeare's most painful tragedy King Lear, opening July 27. The season concludes with Henrik Ibsen's dark drama Hedda Gabler, opening August 10.

Photo Flash: Honolulu's EVOLVE Presents COWBOY VERSUS SAMURAI
by Stephi Wild - Jun 2, 2018

COWBOY VERSUS SAMURAI by Michael Golamco is a laugh-out-loud, romantic comedy exploring the sexual dynamics that surface around race when an attractive Korean American woman moves to town. Travis Park is a high school English teacher and the only Korean American man living in a dusty cowboy town known as Breakneck, Wyoming. When a gorgeous, whip-smart Asian American woman moves into town, he immediately falls for her; the only problem is that she only dates white men. In this savagely funny and often-moving re-telling of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano De Bergerac, one man must choose allegiance between his cowboy friend (a dim, handsome, Caucasian P.E. teacher named Del) and his Asian Brother-with-a-Capital-B (crazed, militant Asian of Unknown Origin, Chester).

BWW Reviews: Captured in Time with Cymbeline
by Gail Lloyd - Jul 25, 2012

As one steps around the dark, velvet curtain at the entryway to the theatre, one beholds a festive and lively group of actors in the center of the room, chatting, tuning instruments and warming up their voices. Several turn and welcome each of us warmly as we enter, as if we were family members or friends. The setting is intimate, only three tiers of benches wrapped around a small square stage that is open on all sides. I first notice the age range of the actors that seem to span several generations. They are clad in simple medieval attire suggestive of the time period.
