New York Live Arts 2017 Live Ideas Gala, co-chaired by Sarah Arison, Slobodan Randjelovic, and Jon Stryker and with award-winning actors Kathleen Turner and Delroy Lindo as masters of ceremony, pays tribute to Live Arts' annual Live Ideas Festival. The Gala will take place at the Highline Ballroom, located at 431 W 16th Street, New York City on Monday, April 3 with a cocktail reception at 6:30pmfollowed by the dinner and program at 7:15pm.

Fire Island Dance Festival, one of the most anticipated charitable events of the Fire Island summer, will return to bring extraordinary dance and an incomparable weekend of culture on July 14-16, 2017. Featuring renowned international companies from a vast range of styles, the festival is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School will appear at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in New York City, March 24 - 26, 2017.

Celebrating innovation and diversity in American ballet, the Kennedy Center presents the return of its weeklong Ballet Across America series, April 17 and April 19-23, for seven performances in the Opera House. Last seen in 2013, and illustrating the most exciting, creative dance happening across America today, this season's engagement explores new directions in the art form through programs curated by two of the biggest superstars in the ballet world: dancer-choreographer Justin Peck and principal dancer Misty Copeland.

On February 10th and 11th the ABT Studio Company (formerly ABT ll), under the artistic direction of Kate Lydon, and graduate students of London's RBS met at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts to give three performances of classical and new classical repertory. The shared performances are part of a unique exchange, which began in 2003, between the ABT Studio Company and The Royal Ballet School. On alternate years, they perform in NYC, while on alternate years, they perform in London. I attended the opening night performance, February 10, 2017.

Brian Stokes Mitchell, Chairman of The Actors Fund and Joe Benincasa it's CEO came to Palm Beach for the the 8th Annual Heart & Soul Gala which was started by Anka Palitz.  Anka, for the past 20+ years has been the FundraIsing Chair of CTFD. BroadwayWorld was at the event which honored philanthropist Sydell Miller. Marcelo Gomes received the organizations Dance Award, and the capacity crowd at The Breakers were entertained by Liz Callaway and local Palm Beach dancers.

Today OUT magazine unveiled their annual list celebrating the Top 100 most compelling people of the year with the special OUT100 double issue.

American Ballet Theatre's 2017 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 15-July 8, will feature the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's Whipped Cream and the Company Premiere of Ratmansky's Souvenir d'un lieu cher, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.  

Tonight, the biggest names from Broadway and Hollywood will take the stage for a Hillary Clinton fundraiser called STRONGER TOGETHER. The special evening at the theater - which will feature Julia Roberts, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Emily Blunt, Neil Patrick Harris, Helen Mirren and many more - will include never-before-seen duets and collaborations to raise money for the Hillary Victory Fund.  (Additional details below.)
