Signature Theatre Announces Cast and Creative Team For RENT

Signature Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for RENT, book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, which will reopen Signature's MAX Theatre for live performances from November 2, 2021 – January 2, 2022.

Signature Theatre announced today that the special pre-Broadway engagement of KPOP, The Musical, originally scheduled for December 2021-January 2022 at The Anthem in D.C., has been cancelled by the producing partners due to pandemic-related logistical challenges with bringing the production to D.C. at this time.

This episode features an interview with recent Helen Hayes Award winners Jeff Gorti and Samantha M. Gershman from A Chorus Line, a discussion with writing team Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler with one of their songs performed by Crystal Mosser, a performance by Claybourne Elder and Brynn O’Malley, the stars of Signature Theatre’s 2015 production of Sunday in the Park with George, and concludes with Signature favorites performing Stephen Sondheim’s “Take Me to the World”. Many theatres around the world have started engaging their audiences with lots of digital content since the COVID-19 pandemic started back in March. Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA  has taken the idea of digital content and has kicked it up  many notches. They were the first area company  to stream one of their productions with Easy Women Smoking Loose Cigarettes. The play was shuttered mid-run.
