The Rep's ground-breaking collaboration with Sky Studios comes to fruition this March as audiences are invited to be amongst the first to enjoy the work of the comedy writing stars of the future. Sky Comedy Rep will host its first-ever festival of new comedic short plays at Birmingham Rep from 3-5 March 2022.

Abdul Shayek was announced last year as the new artistic director and joint CEO of Tara Theatre (formerly Tara Arts), the British Asian company founded in 1977 in direct response to a racist attack on a Sikh teenager. Based in southwest London, Tara Theatre is the only building-based South Asian theatre company in the UK and is marking its new directorship with an ambitious and provocative new season as outlined by Shayek below.

Papatango today announce full casting for Iman Qureshi's The Funeral Director - winner of their 10th annual New Writing Prize. Hannah Hauer King directs Aryana Ramkhalawon (Ayesha), Maanuv Thiara (Zeyd), Tom Morley (Tom) and Jessica Clark (Janey).

In a new UK tour currently playing at Bristol Old Vic, award-winning theatre company simple8 have joined forces with Northampton's Royal & Derngate to present Simon Dormandy's adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel A Passage to India.

One of the great novels of the twentieth century, E. M. Forster's A Passage to India is vividly re-imagined by award-winning ensemble simple8, in a co-production with Royal & Derngate, Northampton. The press night will be Thursday 22 February, at 7pm.
