FADE Comes to TheaterWorks 6/1- 30

TheaterWorks (Rob Ruggiero, Producing Artistic Director) announced today that FADE the 4th show of TheaterWorks 31st Season will run June 1 through June 30, 2017 (please note date correction).

BWW Review: THE WHO & THE WHAT: All in the Muslim Family

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar returns to the Huntington Theatre Company with THE WHO & THE WHAT, a provocative drama that looks at differences around faith and identity within a Muslim-American family. Giving credit to Norman Lear and William Shakespeare for inspiration, Akhtar's own ability to draw well-rounded characters and insert humor into the equation adds up to a compelling and diverting piece of theater.

Directed by Mike Donahue and riffing on the lives and works of certain 19th-century novel-writing sisters, The Moors is a dark comic examination of the ways in which women fight for visibility.

Huntington Theatre Co. Extends Ayad Akhtar's THE WHO AND THE WHAT

 The Huntington Theatre Company will present the provocative and moving drama The Who & the What by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced) and directed by Huntington Associate Producer M. Bevin O'Gara (Milk Like Sugar, Becoming Cuba). Performances begin Friday, March 31 and by popular demand the production has been extended through May 7, 2017 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

Primary Stages presents the New York premiere of FADE, written by Tanya Saracho (Mala Hierba) and directed by Jerry Ruiz (Basilica). The cast of FADE will feature Annie Dow (SONG FOR THE DISAPPEARED) as 'Lucia' and Eddie Martinez ('Sense8') as 'Abel'.

OH, HELLO Packs in the Tuna, Breaks Lyceum Theatre Box Office Records

OH, HELLO on Broadway has shattered the box office record at the Lyceum Theatre. The show, which stars Nick Kroll and John Mulaney's inexplicably popular alter egos in their acclaimed Broadway masterpiece, grossed $911,602 over nine performances the week ending January 2. The previous record was held by the 2008 production of Macbeth, starring Patrick Stewart.

Theatergoers just can't get enough of Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland! Once again, OH, HELLO on BROADWAY has extended its engagement by one week to Sunday January 22, 2017. This will now be the final chance for audiences to catch Nick Kroll and John Mulaney's inexplicably popular alter egos in their acclaimed Broadway masterpiece.
