International City Theatre Presents SHIPWRECKED

Inspired by the real-life autobiography of Louis de Rougemont, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Marguliescelebrates the power of storytelling with a fantastical theatrical adventure sure to bring out every audience member's inner child. Luke Yankee (ICT's Private Lives, former artistic director of Long Beach Civic Light Opera and Struthers Library Theatre) directs Shipwrecked! for an October 14 opening at International City Theatre. Two low-priced previews take place on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.

A new play by award-winning playwright Luke Yankee will receive its world premiere at UC-Irvine this November. The Last Lifeboat is the untold story of J. Bruce Ismay, the owner of the White Star Line at the time of the sinking of the Titanic, whose decision to save himself rather than go down with the ship made him the scapegoat for one of the greatest disasters of all time. An ensemble cast playing multiple roles tells this epic tale which explores not only the tragedy itself, but the sensationalized trials and aftermath of the night that changed the world forever. The production will be directed and produced by Don Hill, Vice Chair of the UCI Drama Department.

Wells Fargo presented the evening Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center's new Guerin Pavilion/Herscher Hall in Los Angeles which was reported by event producer Luke Yankee to have raised $300,000. Broadway Icon and nine time TONY Award winner, Tommy Tune, hosted The Actors Fund's 17th Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party at the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Produced and written by David Rambo and directed by Luke Yankee, the event featured the only approved live TONY Award feed direct from New York to California, allowing guests of the Actors Fund to view the awards before the rest of West Coast viewed the delayed broadcast.
