Danny Burstein, Ana Ortiz, Bianca Marroquin and More Among 2014 HOLA Award Winners; Ceremony Set for This October

The Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA), the nation's longest running active arts advocacy organization for Latino actors, have announced that it will honor Obie and Emmy winner Hector Elizondo ('Last Man Standing', 'Chicago Hope', Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, The Princess Diaries films), five-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (currently in Cabaret on Broadway), actress Ana Ortiz ('Devious Maids', 'Ugly Betty'), triple threat Bianca Marroquin (currently in Chicago on Broadway), Pedro Pascal ('Game of Thrones'), Cierra Ramirez ('The Fosters') and WNBC-TV anchor Sibila Vargas at the Fifteenth Annual HOLA Awards Gala and Benefit. The HOLA Awards will take place on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 6:30pm at The Battery Gardens, overlooking and located on the waterfront overlooking New York Harbor in Battery Park (opposite 17 State Street in lower Manhattan).

TO THE BONE, JUAREZ and More Set for 2014 THEATER:VILLAGE Festival, Running 9/4-10/5

The OBIE Award-winning Theater:Village festival, which is presented by Axis Theatre, Cherry Lane Theatre, New Ohio Theatre, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, returns for its second year, September 4 - October 5. Following last year's The Hill Town Plays, which presented five works by the playwright Lucy Thurber, this year's festival, titled E Pluribus, will feature four new plays celebrating the diversity of America.

The 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards Winners and More!

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) paid tribute to the winners and honorees of the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards in collaboration with Swarovski at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Film director and screenwriter John Waters was the host for the evening. For the thirteenth year in a row, the evening was generously underwritten by Swarovski.

Rhonda Ross to Perform at The Cutting Room, 5/16

After captivating the audience at The Hollywood Bowl last year, singer/songwriter RHONDA ROSS will make her return to The Cutting Room on Friday, May 16, 2014. Throughout the past year, with sold-out performances at The Cutting Room, Iridium & Stamford, CT's Palace Theater, it has become evident that Rhonda not only has the voice, but the significance to carry on her mother's (Diana Ross's) legacy, all the while establishing her own unique musical destination. In July, she will again be opening for her mother at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Anthony Rodriguez to Participate in 2014 NALAC LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures- NALAC announced today the names of the participants for their 14th Annual NALAC Leadership Institute that will take place July 14-19, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. The Leadership Institute convenes Latino arts leaders for an intensive, one-week training in nonprofit arts management and leadership development. Anthony Rodriguez is one of the twenty-eight participants that will be part of the 2014 NALAC Leadership Institute.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Opens DIGITAL HAND at 709 Penn Gallery Today

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the opening of the visual art exhibition Digital Hand. On view today, April 25-May 25, 2014, at the Trust's 709 Penn Gallery, the exhibition features works created by students participating in a course exploring the sculptural possibilities of digital fabrication taught by Tom Lauerman, assistant professor of art at the Penn State School of Visual Arts (SoVA). The exhibition, which is made possible by The Penn State Center Pittsburgh, opens during the Trust's Gallery Crawl in the Cultural District, April 25, 2014, 6-9 p.m.

Stockton Harmony Students Perform at the Venezuelan Consulate

Students in the Stockton Harmony after-school music program performed at the Venezuelan consulate on March 12, 2014 in San Francisco to a number of visiting consuls. Representing Harmony Stockton—an El Sistema inspired program—the students were promoting the El Sistema vision to an international audience.

Now, Epic Win, RAWR & D20 Burlesque will showcase the sexy side of nerds at the 1st annual NERDLESQUE FESTIVAL. For four days, from April 3rd through April 6th, burlesque performers from all over the world will unite in New York City to celebrate nerd chic. No Name Comedy/Variety Show Set for Word Up Bookshop, 3/4

The long-running No Name Comedy / Variety Show brings New York's best established and upcoming authors and storytellers including Nelson Lugo, Lisa Kirchner, Daniel Guzman, Robin Bady and Tommy Pryor to Washington Heights on Tuesday, March 4th for their monthly series: 'No Name @ Word Up Super Storytellers' Edition', at the Word Up Community Bookshop (165th Street & Amsterdam Avenue).
