Stripped Scripts in association with Long Island City Artists Inc. and The Plaxall Gallery has announced that it will present Aaron Posner's STUPID F##KING BIRD, a satirical spin on the Chekhov's classic text, 'The Seagull', directed by Adam Knight ('In The Room, 'Naperville'), running July 6th - July 21st, Wednesdays, Fridays and Todays at The Plaxall Gallery (5-25 46 Avenue, Long Island City).

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) is turning off the lights for DarkFest 2018, a festival and environmental initiative celebrating innovative performances that utilize self-sufficient and alternative energy sources. Artists are using everything from glow-in-the-dark mouth guards to flashlights and more to shed some light on their work

The Tank is now accepting applications for LIT Council (Akin Salawu, Founder/Creator; and Beto O'Byrne and Jerome A. Parker, Co-creators) a development intensive for male playwrights of color. During their time with the Council (September 2018 through April 2019), writers will hone a play guided by the Bechdel Test to ensure gender equity in storytelling. The program will culminate in a reading workshop of each participant's play, hosted at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue). In order to further promote collaboration and communication between genders, each play will be attached to a female director of color, chosen from a group of professionals and mentors, who will be active presences throughout the process.

ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE (EST) (William Carden, Artistic Director, Sarah McLellan, Executive Director) is proud to announce its 50th Anniversary season. The season will commence in October 2018 with the world premiere of TRAVISVILLE a new play by William Jackson Harper ("The Good Place") and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III (The Hip-Hop Project). This marks the playwriting debut of Harper, who has been developing the piece with EST over the past 8 years.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Theatre Conspiracy will present the World Premiere of Stray by Tanya Marquardt (Nocturne (an incomplete and inaccurate account of the love affair between George Sand and Frederic Chopin) at Dixon Place), directed by Mallory Catlett (2014 Obie Award for This Was The End with Restless NYC; member of The Collapsable Hole) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), July 18-28.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present PrideFest 2018 from June 27-30 in both the 56-seat and 99-seat spaces at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). The festival will feature new shows by Jessie Field, Kev Berry, Matthew Mirliani, Marjorie Conn, Julien Zotique, Julie Moore & Ania Upstill, and Rodrigo Nogueira.
