The New Group's production of 'The Kid' officially opens May 6. Previews for the show began Saturday, April 10.

The Broadway Boys, a collection of the hottest male voices currently working on The New York Stage will release their debut recording, 'Lullaby Of Broadway' on June 8.

Up next for The New Group is the new musical The Kid, beginning performances on Friday, April 16. Official Opening Night is set for Monday, May 10. This marks the final production in The New Group's current 2009-2010 season, which featured Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger and most recently, the hit revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke.

As previously reported, Shrek vet Christopher Sieber will lead the cast of The Kid for The New Group. Based on the book by Dan Savage entitled The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant, the new musical The Kid features music by Andy Monroe, book by Michael Zam and lyrics by Jack Lechner. Today it has been announced that the first preview has moved from April 10 to Friday, April 16. Official Opening is now Monday, May 10 at 7:00 (moved from May 6, announced previously). Final performance is May 29.

On Monday, January 25, a starry ensemble including Matthew Broderick, Jill Clayburgh, Josh Hamilton, Ethan Hawke, Marin Ireland, Natasha Lyonne, Marsha Mason, Laurie Metcalf, John Pankow, Sam Shepard, Reshma Shetty, Maggie Siff, Frank Whaley, Karen Young, Keith Carradine, Ann Harada, and Anika Larsen honored Robyn Goodman with the Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater at The New Group's 2010 Gala Benefit. The Gala took place at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in an dinner and auction event hosted by Wallace Shawn and Jeff Whitty.

The New York Times is reporting that Shrek vet Christopher Sieber will star as sex columnist Dan Savage in The New Group's production of The Kid, a new musical based on Dan Savage's book The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant. The production will run as the the third show of The New Group's 2009 - 2010 season, however, no exact production dates have been announced. Additional cast and creative team announcements are also forthcoming.

The Broadway Boys, a gathering of some of the best tenor voices on the Broadway stage are headed into the recording studio on October 1 to record their debut album. Produced by Michael McElroy, the CD is schedule to be available at concerts by late November. PS Classics will release the CD in stores in early winter. Due to audience demand and strong ticket sales, Intiman Theatre is extending its run of the Theatre for a New Audience production of Othello for an additional week of performances. Tickets are on sale now for shows on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:30 pm; Wednesday, August 5 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; Thursday, August 6 at 7:30 pm; Friday, August 7 at 8 pm; Saturday, August 8 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, August 9 at 2 pm (closing).
