October is Italian Heritage & Culture Month, and this year, in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, Giuseppe Garibaldi is the honoree. On Sunday, October 16, at 1 p.m., the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum's Terza Domenica Heritage Series event will be a presentation of 'Garibaldi: The Man, and the Myth,' by Professor Louis Leonini.

In 2011 Italy will commemorate the 150th anniversary of its unification, which was brought about in large part by the efforts of General Giuseppe Garibaldi. To kick off the year of celebrations, the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum will present 'Italy 150' for its January Terza Domenica Heritage Series event. Due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend, this Terza Domenica event will take place on the second Sunday of the month, January 9 at 1 p.m. Seating is limited. Admission of $10 for non-members and $5 for members. A free opening reception will follow.
