The new American musical Allegiance officially opened last night, November 8, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II.  BroadwayWorld was there for the full night of festivities and you can check out photos from the curtain call below!

Lea Salonga Will Host Pinoy Day Talkback at ALLEGIANCE Later This Month

Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, and later this month, fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with the superstar.  The October 31 matinee performance of Allegiance is Pinoy Day! 'Pinoy' is an informal demonym referring to the Filipino people in the Philippines and overseas Filipinos around the world. Salonga, the first Filipina Tony Award-winner, will host a post-show talkback, so have your questions ready!

The cast of the new musical  ALLEGIANCE were visited by a trio of young Broadway stars at the Sunday matinee performance at the Longacre Theatre.  Tony nominee Sydney Lucas who was one of the stars of 'Fun Home' joined her brother, Jake Lucas who is in 'The King & I' along with current 'Fun Home' co-star Oscar Wiliams for the performance. Broadway's ALLEGIANCE Announces Partnership with Educational Program 'Inspire Change'

Producers Lorenzo Thione and Andrew Treagus has announced a partnership with INSPIRE CHANGE, an innovative arts program that works alongside commercial theater productions to provide students across the tri-state area with no-and-low-cost tickets paired with unique and high-impact educational programming. INSPIRE CHANGE was piloted with the Tony-winning Best Musical Memphis in 2012 and will be back on Broadway this fall with Allegiance, a new American musical starring Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, George Takei and Telly Leung, which will open on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Previews begin on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

ALLEGIANCE Launches Docuseries 'Trek To Broadway' on Facebook; Watch First Episode!

Lorenzo Thione and Andrew Treagus, producers of the upcoming Broadway musical Allegiance starring Lea Salonga and George Takei, release their new docuseries Allegiance: Trek to Broadwa todayy, which chronicles the musical's journey to Broadway, directly to their fans exclusively on Facebook. The first of this ten-part docuseries is now available with new bimonthly installments through December 2015.
