On Saturday, July 1, from 7 pm to 10:30 pm, Brookfield Theatre presents Christmas in July: Battle of the Christmas Musicals. This festive event treats audiences to 45-minute previews of 3 brand new holiday-themed musicals. At the end of the evening, audiences vote for their favorite and the winning show will be performed as a full-length staged reading in December. A new version of the acclaimed American musical ALLEGIANCE; the Tony Award-winning drama THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME; the gender-flipping phenomenon MEN ON BOATS; the life-affirming charmer EVERY BRILLIANT THING; and the sparkling British comedy SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE will make up SpeakEasy Stage Company's 2017-2018 Season, the company's Founder and Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault announced today.

East West Players (EWP) and Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) have announced the Los Angeles premiere of the Broadway musical Allegiance, which had its 2012 world premiere in a record-breaking engagement at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and played on Broadway from 2015-16 at The Shubert Organization's Longacre Theatre.

After a hugely successful North-American premiere, Cineplex Events brings George Takei's ("Star Trek," "Heroes") Broadway musical Allegiance back to Canadian theatres for an encore on Sunday, February 19 at 6:30p.m. local time. This date is the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066, known as the Day of Remembrance, which marked the beginning of the forced relocation and internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII.

After an unprecedented cinematic premiere resulting in the highest-grossing one-night Broadway musical event to date for Fathom Events, George Takei's ("Star Trek," "Heroes") Broadway musical Allegiance returns to cinemas nationwide for an encore on Sunday, February 19 at 12:55 p.m. local time.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, celebrates its milestone 50th Anniversary with the Annual Visionary Awards Dinner & Silent Auction on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Universal Hilton. Proceeds benefit East West Players' educational and artistic programs.

The 2nd Annual Broadway Hackathon will return Monday April 18th  and Tuesday April 19th at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

ALLEGIANCE plays its final performance on Broadway today, February 14, 2016. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre on October 6, 2015, and the production officially opened on November 8, 2015. At the time of its closing, the musical will have played 37 previews and 113 regular performances, and will have been seen by approximately 120,000 people, a number that eerily echoes the number of Japanese Americans who were directly impacted by the events that inspired the show.
