Two spectacular performers will be in Sacramento for one night only on March 19. Thomas Lauderdale, founder and bandleader of the Portland, Oregon-based Pink Martini and the vivacious cabaret songstress, Meow Meow, have combined their talents on one much-anticipated album. Sacramento will get to witness their special energy on Hotel Amour, which comes out on March 22. It happened last night in the Dreyfoos Concert Hall at The Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Michael Feinstein, Ambassador of the Great American Songbook, has built a dazzling career over the last three decades bringing the music of the Great American Songbook to the world and he expertly and nostalgically brought the music of the 'chairman of the board to an audience that remembers it well at The Kravis Center. The Kravis Big Band filled the hall with Tedd Firth arrangements and Michael wowed the audience with his performance, which included Michael at the piano with the Kravis Center Big Band. In true Mr. Sinatra fashion, Mr. Feinstein and crew were on a Jet to NYC as the folks were leaving the parking lot, to hook up with Liza Minelli for some musical adventures in the Big Apple.

Musco Center presents actor, writer, singer, style icon, activist, and all-around Renaissance man Alan Cumming in Legal Immigrant on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 pm. The show is a cabaret of powerful songs and stories, anecdotes and social commentary written with the hope to change negative rhetoric around immigration. Cumming uses his own journey to obtaining American citizenship in 2008 to remind audiences that America is a country shaped by its rich diversity.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announces A Star is Born: The Concert, on Saturday, April 13 at 8 pm. The show features a number of Broadway' finest singers, from shows such as Cats, Crazy for You, Aida, and more. Bay Street audiences will remember director/performer Scott Coulter from Music Monday's Stephen Schwartz & Friends and the 8-Track Memories concert. 

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) will present a mixed repertoire performance March 29-31 at Bass Performance Hall. This performance includes Four Last Songs, Twilight & Esmeralda, and L, all choreographed by Ben Stevenson.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) and the Santa Rosa Symphony announced the lineup for the 2019-20 Carlton Senior Living Symphony Pops Series, to be presented in the Ruth Finley Person Theater at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa). Now in its 15th year, the Sunday afternoon concert series introduces audiences to the great depth and range of sounds of the Santa Rosa Symphony and acclaimed soloists, through the music of legendary icons, famous film scores, and more. Led by the Santa Rosa Symphony's Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, the 2019-20 season kicks-off with Symphonic Sinatra! on Sunday, October 13, 2019. The series will ring in the holiday season on Sunday, December 15, 2019 with Holly Jolly Pops, featuring festive carols and contemporary favorites.

With the highly anticipated premiere of FOSSE/VERDON less than a month away, FX has shared a first look glimpse at a characters featured in the series. Below are the images of Bianca Marroquin as Chita Rivera, Kelli Barrett as Liza Minnelli, Susan Misner as Joan McCracken, and Paul Reiser as Cy Feuer. 

The idea of two companies in one community doing the same show within a few months of each other poses many questions. Sometimes the rights to a popular musical become available and there is something of a feeding frenzy - a dedicated theatergoer could have availed themselves of no less than four productions of Mamma Mia! in this area in the last year. Perhaps they were all stellar productions. I certainly didn't hear any complaints about poor attendance, which indicates either an insatiable appetite for an ABBA jukebox musical or the payoff of careful cultivation of core audience support by each company. In any case, nobody appeared to suffer any ill effects from the repetition.

Don't Tell Mama brings New Generation Theater Company's 'Top Hat, White Tie and Tails: A Celebration of The American Songbook' to New York City for a one night only engagement. This production features selections from the canon of the most important and influential jazz standards from the early 20th century. This night will feature songs made famous by composers such as Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rogers and more. For Sentimental Reasons, this is one show that will have you singing along all night. The performance will play Today, March 9th 2019 at 7:00pm at Don't Tell Mama NYC.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 Broadway's newest intimate concert venue will present Steven Brinberg in the latest edition of Simply Barbra, his acclaimed all-live homage to the legendary Barbra Streisand, for two Wednesday night shows, April 17 and May 15, both at 7:00 PM. The evening celebrates the 50th anniversary of the film Hello, Dolly! and features songs from and stories about the film, as well as other Streisand hits right up to her current album Walls. Christopher Denny will serve as Music Director.

Fans of the musicals Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman will enjoy the musical The World Goes 'Round at TheatreZone in Naples on April 25 through May 5. The show is a stunning review from the songbook of the multiple Tony Award-winning team of composer John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb, who wrote these musicals and many others. The duo also scored several movies, including New York, New York, and wrote songs for Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera. And the World Goes 'Round won Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revue.

The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.  

The Tony Award-winning Falsettos is on the move after its phenomenally successful Broadway revival. After winning two Tonys in its original run, it was nominated for five more in 2017, including Best Revival of a Musical. Leading the talented pack is Max von Essen as Marvin, the married dad turned gay man who learns to navigate his new roles and relationships. Von Essen is, perhaps, best known for his Tony-nominated role as Henri Baurel in An American in Paris. He is also a successful film actor and solo recording artist. Fresh off of a run on Broadway as Greb Vaganov in Anastasia, he agreed to speak with BroadwayWorld Sacramento about his upcoming album release, past roles, and what we can expect from Falsettos.
