A new North American tour of Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony-winning Broadway smash Aida will premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse, February 4 a?' March 7, 2021.

Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse University Department of Drama is now enchanting audiences with their production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical is under the always superb direction of Donna Drake and musical director Brian Cimmet, the creative team that brought the last two holiday favorites to Syracuse Stage. Like their past productions, Wizard of Oz and Elf their production of Beauty and the Beast kicks off the Holiday season with magical sets, costumes, and dazzling talent.

Susan Egan was featured in the second episode of the new Disney+  series Encore! She was a mentor to a group of former castmates of a high school musical production of Beauty and the Beast, who were tasked with re-creating their original performance in a high school reunion like no other.

Syracuse Stage rings in the holiday season with the family musical a?oeDisney's Beauty and the Beast,a?? directed by Donna Drake and choreographed by Anthony Salatino with musical direction by Brian Cimmet. Preview performances begin Nov. 22. Opening night is Nov. 29, with performances scheduled through Jan. 5. Aida is widely considered one of the grandest of grand operas. The task of converting it to a Broadway musical was a daunting one. Book writers Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls, and David Henry Hwang took liberties with the original libretto in a manner they believed would make the plot more relatable to the general public - while that is a question of taste, what is could not be changed was the epic size of the story - Pharaohs, Kings, and Princesses implicitly carry a certain about of gravitas. And the WPPAC production delivers in a big - very big way.

The tale as old as time will be told again soon! A source has confirmed that Disney Theatrical Productions will revive Beauty and the Beast internationally in several years. The production will  be headed by the original creative team, but will feature new designs and dance arrangements.

Cal State Fullerton's fall season begins with a?oeDisney's Beauty and the Beast,a?? with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, book by CSUF alumna Linda Woolverton '79 (M.A. theatre arts), and directed by Martie Ramm. The play runs from October 11 a?" 27, 2019 in the Little Theatre on campus. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, Disney's family friendly musical a?" a a?oetale as old as timea?? a?" tells the story of Belle, a smart young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will return to his former self. But time is running out. Will he be transformed by love or doomed for all eternity?

Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha unveils new single, “You Can't Stop The Girl' (Warner Records) which is the featured song for Disney's “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” The accompanying video was helmed by award-winning director Sophie Muller and will be released in the weeks ahead. The highly anticipated Disney sequel hits theaters on October 18th.

The Torrance Theatre Company's production of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST features a live twelve-piece orchestra conducted to perfection by Bradley Hampton, and a cast of 44 actors from all over Southern California, who donate their time and talent to bring high-quality theatrical performances to Torrance and the South Bay. Assisted by a team of backstage wonder workers, from the stage hands to the costume and wig dressers, the cast is brilliantly led by brunette beauty Brianna Liddi as Belle and Christopher Tiernan who brings just the right mix of brutality and humanity to The Beast, highlighted during his Act 1 closing solo a?oeIf I Can't Love Her.'

By the time you read this, you may have missed your chance to see Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at the Ralston Community Theatre. You may have thought that it's a 'tale as old as time,' that you've seen several times, both on film and on stage. But this one may be different. This one felt more like home than a quiet village. The performers were familiar, the theater was in a local high school, and the audience...your friends and neighbors...were loving every minute. I especially enjoyed watching the face of a little girl dressed in her Belle costume completely entranced. Sometimes seeing something through the eyes of a child makes it new again.
