August Strindberg Repertory Theatre (www.strindberg.org), which was formed in 2012 to illuminate Strindberg's plays for today's American audiences, will present the English language premiere of Strindberg's 'Mr. Bengt's Wife' (1882), directed by Craig Baldwin (Associate Artistic Director of Red Bull Theater) September 13 to 29, 2013 at the Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, where August Strindberg Rep is the resident company. 'Mr. Bengt's Wife' has been characterized as Strindberg's answer to Ibsen's 'The Doll's House.' It utilizes realism, expressionism, melodrama and dreamscape to tell the story of the rebellious Margit, whose quest to become an independent New Woman catapults her from a convent to a castle, where her husband and two lovers vie for her attention.

TheatreSquared announced today the 2012 Gala for Education, supporting arts-in-education outreach for 10,000 students and teachers from Northwest Arkansas to the Arkansas Delta. Famed entertainers Lucie Arnaz and Laurence Luckinbillwill serve alongside NWA community members as honorary co-chairs, with Luckinbill, an Arkansas Entertainer's Hall of Fame inductee, performing. The 2012 Arts Advocate Award will be presented toDenise and Hershey Garner, recognizing their decades of service to the region. The Dallas Opera Guild's 24th Annual Vocal Competition for young opera singers ended on a high-note last evening when ten outstanding finalists (with Texas connections) were awarded a total of $20,000 in prize monies. It is only the second time this spring musical event has graced the stage of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Arts District.

Due to high demand, TheatreSquared will extend its World Premiere production of Sundown Town, which opened on February 4 in downtown Fayetteville.
