On Today, January 19 at 5:30pm, Trinity Repertory Company will participate in a nationwide collective, simultaneous action: launching The Ghostlight Project.

Artistic Directors Doug Aibel and Sarah Stern announce Kate Tarker as the ninth recipient of Vineyard Theatre's Paula Vogel Playwriting Award named in honor of playwright and teacher Paula Vogel, whose plays INDECENT, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE (Pulitzer Prize for Drama) and THE LONG CHRISTMAS RIDE HOME premiered at The Vineyard.

As previously announced, at 5:30pm on January 19, 2017, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs will gather across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

The Desert Rose Playhouse is participating in 'The Ghostlight Project', on January 19, 2017. In each time zone across the country, members of the theater community from Broadway to regional theaters to high schools and colleges and community theaters will come together to launch THE GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT. Gathering outside of theaters on the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, people will join in creating 'light' for the challenging times ahead.

Vineyard Theatre's Board of Directors, and Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern, announced today that Suzanne Appel has been named the company's new Managing Director beginning January 17, 2017.

THE GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT (previously announced as 'The Sanctuary Project') will bring the theatre community together from coast to coast on January 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in each time zone to light a light and make a pledge. Inspired by the theatrical tradition of keeping a 'ghost light' on in a darkened theater, we create light for the challenging times ahead.

The New York premiere of KID VICTORY, book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, music by John Kander with story by John Kander and Greg Pierce, and directed by Liesl Tommy, will begin previews on Wednesday, February 1 and open on Wednesday, February 22 at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St. in New York City). Beloved jazz songbird Somi returns with a special new work-in-progress called Dreaming Zenzile, detailing the life of legendary activist and singer Miriam Makeba. Dreaming Zenzile is directed by Liesl Tommy, whose most recent works include Eclipsed (at The Public and on Broadway) and Party People (The Public), and stars Somi.

Danielle Brooks, Tony Award nominee from The Color Purple and co-star of the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," will perform in a one-night only reading of James Baldwin's The Amen Corner this Mondayevening, November 28 at 7 pm as part of Classic Stage Company's annual First Look Festival. Directed by Liesl Tommy, the reading of The Amen Corner will also feature Adeola Role, Mirirai Sithole, Phumzile Sithole, Christina Redd, Brandon Jones, Curtiss Cook Jr, Kevin Mambo, Cristina Pitter and Folami Williams.
