Comix at Foxwoods presents Semi-Famous: The Comedy Show, a trio featuring NBC's 'Last Comic Standing' contestants Mike Gaffney, Nick Guerra and Erin Jackson for a one-night, two-show performance kicking off tonight, October 17 at 8 p.m.

The Geffen Playhouse production of The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, is now performing at the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. Written by Scott Carter, executive producer and writer for Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect and Real Time, this whip-smart philosophical comedy features Larry Cedar (Deadwood, PBS's Square One TV), David Melville (Travel Channel Lawrence of America, film Ironclad) and Armin Shimerman (Quark on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Associate Artistic Director at The Antaeus Company) and will be again helmed by director, Matt August (Broadway How the Grinch Stole Christmas). Due to popular demand, the production has extended now through November 23.

Actor, playwright and comedian Lewis Black will return to The Mirage, bringing his spot-on social and political humor to the Terry Fator Theatre during his THE RANT IS DUE TOUR. The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), in association with Comedy Central, announced today the addition of more than 60 shows including Comics to Watch, the New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition finals, and events featuring Jim Gaffigan, Bob Odendkirk, Pete Holmes and Sommore. In addition NYCF in partnership with The Paley Center for Media announced three new dynamic panel discussions with the creative teams behind the hit shows "Late Show with David Letterman," "Inside Amy Schumer" and "Broad City;" The 11th annual festival runs from November 5 - 9 at more than 20 venues throughout New York City.

Musical Tom Foolery will be performed at Conor O'Neills by Ann Arbor's The Penny Seats the first four Thursdays, beginning today, Oct 2 and running through the 23rd.

The Penny Seats return to the stage this October with the musical revue Tomfoolery, celebrating the words and music of satirist, mathematician, and cult favorite, Tom Lehrer. The production also includes an opening short—a 5-minute mini-musical called Volcanoes!!—composed by Ann Arbor's Zach London, who cites Lehrer as an early inspiration.

At a public unveiling ceremony on October 22 at 1:00pm, the 400 block of West 121st street between Morningside Drive and Amsterdam Avenue will officially be co-named 'George Carlin Way,' after the celebrated comedian, actor and author, George Carlin, who grew up on West 121 Street.
