Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents the Leonard Bernstein classic, CANDIDE, based on Voltaire's satire on the follies of the human race, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, June 3 through 11. A 24-piece orchestra accompanies the well-known songs "Glitter and Be Gay," "The Best of All Possible Worlds" and "Make Our Garden Grow."

Joe's Pub at The Public has announced that Tori Scott's new show Plan B! - a shameless musical journey of slurred autobiographical stories and songs written by other people- will be taped live at the venue for Scott's upcoming Plan B! album. The Red House Arts Center continues its 2017 season with Six Degrees of Separation, by award-winning playwright John Guare which runs now through March 18th. Diamonds and denim clash in this fast-paced and wildly clever play inspired by true events.

The Richmond Jazz Society and Virginia Repertory Theatre announce Ella at 100, April 25, 2017, 7:00 P.M. at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street. This momentous evening of jazz will celebrate the 100th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald, a Newport News native. Hundreds of events are taking place around the world to celebrate her legacy this spring. The Richmond event falls on Fitzgerald's actual birthday.

The one-night-only concert event took place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre yesterday, February 12, 2017 at 7:00 PM with original cast members Frieda Payne and Robert Hooks in attendance. The one-night-only concert event will take place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 7:00 PM with original cast members Frieda Payne and Robert Hooks scheduled to be in attendance.

Due to overwhelming audience response, Cloud 9 Theatricals, in association with Lang Entertainment Group and Ray of Light Theatre, announced today the extension of the San Francisco premiere of SILENCE! The Musical - the "subversively funny and deliciously tasty" award-winning musical parody of "The Silence of the Lambs." Originally scheduled to close on Saturday, February 25, tickets are now on-sale through Saturday, March 18. 

The long-awaited Broadway debut of August Wilson's Jitney, directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson (The Piano Lesson, Seven Guitars, Gem of the Ocean), opened just last night at MTC's Samuel J.
