William F. Brown, the Tony-nominated American writer who is best known for his libretto to the long-running Broadway musical The Wiz, died on June 23 in Westport, CT, according to his longtime wife and collaborator, Tina Tippit. He was 91.

'Songs You Don't Know...' had an outstanding opening performance Saturday, November 10, at Don't Tell Mama. 'The response was so welcome, after working alone with the band for so long. Hearing the laughs for that Johnny Mercer song with five verses was definitely a relief' said writer and actor Mischa Kischkum (Comedy Central Television; NBC; Cannes Festival).

Trip of Love, the 1960's pop music spectacular,breaks the Stage 42 house record, becoming the theater's longest running tenant. At the matinee on Wednesday, June 22, Trip of Love will have played 305 performances (including 24 preview performances). This breaks standing house record held by the 2003 musical Fame on 42nd Street, which ran for a total of 304 performances (including 40 previews) at the same venue when it was previously called The Little Shubert Theater.
