William F. Brown, the Tony-nominated American writer who is best known for his libretto to the long-running Broadway musical The Wiz, died on June 23 in Westport, CT, according to his longtime wife and collaborator, Tina Tippit. He was 91.

'Songs You Don't Know...' had an outstanding opening performance Saturday, November 10, at Don't Tell Mama. 'The response was so welcome, after working alone with the band for so long. Raue Center For The Arts is excited to welcome nationally known singer-songwriter and Crystal Lake native Megon McDonough to the stage with "Dedicated to the Ones I Love: Great Women Singers of the '50s, '60s and '70s." This show will honor the greatest women singers of a generation at 8 p.m. on August 24, 2018.

Mark Berman, renowned pianist and composer, presents his power jazz trio at starry jazz club Club Bonafide, 212 East 52nd Street, Friday April 6 at 8 pm. Berman, on piano, will feature his original songs as well as his jazz arrangements of pop tunes, standards and new works. Berman is joined by David Richards (Hamilton) on bass and Joe Nero (Peter Cincotti) on drums.

Broadway, Las Vegas and regional star, Andrea Wolff, gives an encore performance of her spicy, funny and poignant show, 'Prisoner of Love,' at Don't Tell Mama on Saturday, February 3rd at 8pm. Matthew Martin Ward, as Musical Director, brings his own spin to the late Maestro, Barry Levitt's exquisite arrangements, leading a stellar quartet including violin. Starting July 12, the star of the hit Lifetime Television series 'Dance Moms' will join the company, performing specialty dance solos including 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin', 'Moon River,' and 'Wipe Out.'

Trip of Love, the 1960's pop music spectacular,breaks the Stage 42 house record, becoming the theater's longest running tenant. At the matinee on Wednesday, June 22, Trip of Love will have played 305 performances (including 24 preview performances). This breaks standing house record held by the 2003 musical Fame on 42nd Street, which ran for a total of 304 performances (including 40 previews) at the same venue when it was previously called The Little Shubert Theater.
