The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that Broadway's Lesli Margherita will reprise her sold-out solo show, BROAD, at the historic music room on Mondays, July 18 and 25 at 7pm. Mae West. Sophie Tucker. Lesli Margherita.

On Monday, June 6, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jennifer Damiano. She made her Broadway debut at the age of 15 in the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning musical SPRING AWAKENING. She went on to originate the role of Natalie in the Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt musical NEXT TO NORMAL, for which she earned a Tony Award nomination.

The Skivvies are back and better than ever. The hit group will be returning to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage on June 18th at 9:30pm.

The show will honor the Tyler Clementi Foundation and AIDS pioneer and activist Ruth Coker Burks.  Broadway Sings for Pride, is a multiple award-wining is a non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists and celebrities to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ youth, and support these young people so that they may reach their full potential.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) have announced the winners of the 61st Annual Obie Awards. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

On Monday, May 23 the Theater People podcast welcomes Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, and Alex Boniello. The three sit down to discuss the Tony nominated Deaf West Theater production of SPRING AWAKENING in which they all starred. Topic discussed include how they each came to the production, the unique and exciting challenges of working in a Deaf West production, and how it feels for their show to have been nominated for a Tony Award.

Broadway Records has announced that the star-studded studio cast recording of LIKE YOU LIKE IT will be released digitally and in stores on September 23, 2016.

Last evening, Reproductive rights advocacy organization A is For held their second annual Broadway Acts for Women at 54 Below in New York. The event hosted by SNL's Cecily Strong, raised over 50k with the money distributed this year among Jane's Due Process, Mississippi Reproductive Freedom Fund and Physicians for Reproductive Health.

At 8:30 AM tomorrow morning will be the announcement of the nominations for this year's Tony Awards! The announcements will be made by Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon; HBO's Girls) and Tony Award winner Patina Miller (Pippin; CBS' Madam Secretary). Untitled Theatricals announced today that Academy Award, Golden Globe Award & BAFTA winner and UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace & Reconciliation, Forest Whitaker (Broadway's Hughie) will host the Performers4Peace benefit concert Monday, May 9, 2016 at 8pm at 42West (514 West 42nd Street www.42west.com), featuring performances by Broadway artists to support the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative's work in peace and community building.
