New York singer and actor Steven Brinberg has garnered acclaim from audiences and critics from around the World as the quintessential Barbra Streisand impersonator in the business today. He has toured across the globe in theatres, concert halls and clubs for over a decade and was chosen by Ms. Streisand's management to make a surprise personal appearance at her friend Donna Karan's birthday party. Now, Desert audiences will have not one - but two opportunities to experience Simply Barbra, Saturday, February 26th at a 9 PM at Blame It On Midnight in Palm Springs, and on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM at the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert
Carol Channing has seen her friend Richard Skipper don the dresses, wigs, and make up that transform him into one of the premiere Channing impersonators in America. But when he comes to visit her this week to celebrate his birthday, Carol requested he do a special show as himself - and how could he say no to Carol? It took some last minute planning with local producer Les Michaels to make it happen, but on Sunday, February 13th at 8 PM, Richard will take the stage at Blame It On Midnight in Palm Springs in 'To Carol Channing With Love', benefitting The Dr. Carol Channing and Harry Kullijian Foundation For The Arts, to help raise awareness to the devastating cuts in music and arts programs in our public schools.
Both Tom Culver and Dolores Scozzesi have sold out many a show on their own in clubs in and around the Los Angeles area, but on Sunday, February 13th at 2 PM, the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert will offer two complete shows for the price of one ticket.

For many, Berlin brings to mind: knockwusrt, beer, and certainly World War II or 'Cabaret' because of the movie starring Liza Minneli. First recognized in the 1930's as an art form and likely a version of the Moulin Rouge shows popular in 1890's Paris. Cabaret's influence could be seen in speakeasies, vaudeville, burlesque, and early TV variety shows. Today's cabaret is a mix of many medias but typically one in which a singer interprets songs with their feelings and emotions and adding stories and introductions known as patter to allow them to connect with the audience.

Arnaldo - Drag Chanteuse joins the line up of shows featured at the Arthur Newman Theatre in Palm Desert on January 30, 2011 at a 2 PM matinee. Arnaldo likes to say he is 'Opening hearts and minds through music, one cabaret at a time', and what a time he is having! In his current critically acclaimed show, 'C'est Si Bon', Arnaldo pays homage to his musical muse, the late, legendary Eartha Kitt. Although his vocal styling respectfully interprets the songs of Miss Kitt by emulating her style, it is not an impression - 'after all there is only one Eartha,' says Arnaldo.
