Pacific Symphony to Perform TCHAIKOVSKY SPECTACULAR, Today

   Orange County, Calif.—Aug. 1, 2016—Labor Day weekend has never sounded so good! It's time to celebrate and commemorate nearly three decades of Pacific Symphony concerts at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre during the very last concert before the venue's scheduled closure. Replete with booming cannons, dazzling fireworks and extraordinary music, “Tchaikovsky Spectacular” ensures this remarkable era in the Symphony's history ends with a triumphant finale. The program is a Tchaikovsky hit parade featuring excerpts from the perennially popular ballets “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker,” and two beloved concertos—the Violin Concerto in D Major and Piano Concerto No. 1. Music Director Carl St.Clair takes the audience down memory lane and leads the orchestra and two virtuosic soloists, pianist Natasha Paremski and violinist Paul Huang, as well as the Huntington Beach Concert Band. The curtain falls on this chapter of the Symphony's story to the traditional sounds of the electrifying “1812” Overture.

Lyric Stage Announces Cast, Creative Team for COMPANY

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston announces the cast & creative team for COMPANY, with Music and Lyrics by STEPHEN SONDHEIM and Book by GEORGE FURTH. Directed by Spiro Veloudos with music director Catherine Stornetta and choreography & musical staging by Rachel Bertone, COMPANY will run September 2 - October 9, 2016.

LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES Finds Full Broadway Company for Fall

Full casting has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse production of Christopher Hampton's Les Liaisons Dangereuses, starring Tony Award winners Janet McTeer and Liev Schreiber, directed by the Donmar's Artistic Director Josie Rourke.

Playwright David Henry Hwang Writes on the Passing of Gene Wilder

Playwright David Henry Hwang, who worked with Wilder briefly in the early stages of his play M. Butterfly, just wrote a tribute to the stage and screen legend. Wilder was cast as Rene Gallimard- a role that was later played by John Lithgow after Wilder withdrew from the production.

Gene Wilder, Star of 'WILLY WONKA', Mel Brooks Films and More, Dies at 83

Gene Wilder, star of WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY - which will soon grace Broadway in a new musical adaptation - and Mel Brooks films such as THE PRODUCERS, BLAZING SADDLES and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, died today, August 29, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was 83.

Carmen Cusack and John Lloyd Young Join The Cast of FOR THE RECORD: SCORSESE at The Wallis

Revolutionizing the live musical theater experience, the acclaimed company For The Record makes its triumphant return to Los Angeles in a new production, For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem. This new show will bring the legendary filmmaker's soundtracks to life in a new generation cabaret from September 21 through October 16 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Jason C. Tramm to Conduct 2016 Summer Stars Classical Concert Series Finale August 4th

The 2016 Summer Stars Classical Concert Series will conclude with a blockbuster finale "GRAND ORCHESTRA AND GREAT ORGAN" on Thursday, August 4th (7:30 pm) in the Great Auditorium, Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Jason C. Tramm will conduct organ virtuoso Gordon Turk, the 70 member MidAtlantic Opera Orchestra and  guest soloist,  soprano Margaret Mezzacappa in a program featuring Joseph Jongen's Symphonie Concertante, Paul Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice and works by Rossini and Donizetti.

THE BARDY BUNCH Announces Cast for Chicago Run at the Mercury Theater

THE BARDY BUNCH: The War of the Families Partridge and Brady, the musical parody by Stephen Garvey that gained cult status during its Off-Broadway run in 2014, is excited to announce casting for its limited engagement in Chicago, September 15 through November 27, at the Mercury Theater, 3745 N. Cast Announced For Musical THE BURNT PART BOYS at Park Theatre

The cast has been announced for the European premiere of heart-warming chamber musical THE BURNT PART BOYS at Park Theatre, which runs from 10 August to 3 September. This is the first musical to be staged in PARK90, and British director Matthew Illife directs a brand new cast in this premiere. Press Night is Thursday 11 August, 7pm.  

BEAUTIFUL's Josh Davis to Star in THE GOLD at NYMF

The New York Musical Festival and Laura Yosowitz, Vital Arts Collaborative are pleased to announce Josh Davis (Beautiful) will play Joseph in THE GOLD, a new musical about one man's fight for love, family and country, with book by Andrea Lepcio and Phil Yosowitz, music and lyrics by Phil Yosowitz, music supervision by Steven Jamail and direction by Spiro Veloudos.
