Photo Flash: Inside YoungArts' Inaugural New York Gala

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) welcomed more than 250 of New York City's top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados to the YoungArts New York Inaugural Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing. The sold-out evening raised nearly half a million dollars and celebrated the organization's 35 years of support and lasting impact on young talent in the cultural capital of New York and across the nation. Presented in collaboration with luxury brand Swarovski, the event was hosted by honorary co-chairs and YoungArts artistic advisors Mikhail Baryshnikov, Artistic Director of the Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC), and renowned opera singer Pla?cido Domingo, as well as gala co-chairs Sarah Arison and Agnes Gund.

Alan Gilbert conducts the New York Philharmonic in Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde, featuring baritone Thomas Hampson and tenor Stefan Vinke, in his Philharmonic debut, and Sibelius's Symphony No. 7, beginning today, April 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m.; and Friday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m.

Stage Left to Present VENUS IN FUR on Today

John Langs, the Artistic Director of ACT, is currently rehearsing Stage Left's two-person cast in Seattle, getting ready to open this Tony award-winning, provocative, smart and hilarious play, 'Venus in Fur' by David Ives, at the SJC Fairgrounds on April 7th. We're very excited as this represents another move forward for ISL and will showcase our two new Associate Artistic Directors for this season, Ty and Cassandra Boice. 

Broadway's Karen Murphy Plays Sue Mengers in I'LL EAT YOU LAST at Amphibian Stage

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) presents its second main stage play of the 2016 season, I'LL EAT YOU LAST: A CHAT WITH SUE MENGERS by John Logan. Starring Karen Murphy, the play will run tonight, April 7, through Sunday, May 1 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards Are Announced!

ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, today announced the nominees for the 8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards in a live streaming broadcast on GPB.org. Tony Award-winner and Marietta-native Shuler Hensley joined GPB Sports Anchor Jackie Brittan to announce the nominations. 28 public and private schools from throughout the state were nominated in 17 categories. The awards, which showcase the next generation of Georgia's musical theatre talent, will be presented at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 21. GPB will air the show live on its nine-station statewide television network.

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra to Perform Two Mozart Concerts, Today

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 03/08/2016– The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announces two concerts performed on back to back weekends at the Pabst Theater highlighting the works of Mozart. Mozart + More features guest conductor Ben Gernon and cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan on March 31, April 1, and 2. Mozart's “Jupiter” features guest conductor Courtney Lewis on April 8, 9 and 10.
