One Catches Light Festival Kicks Off JACK's 2017 Season Tonight

Brooklyn Gypsies presents the second-annual One Catches Light Festival, celebrating new solo work of five writers associated with the company, hosted by Olander 'Big O' Wilson. Icarus in the L.E.S. is a kaleidoscopic performance-poem by Nic Adams, with the wax-winged hero chasing his destiny and scouting out the divide between artistic achievement and personal happiness.

American Repertory Theater to Stage TRANS SCRIPTS, PART I: THE WOMEN

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, will present Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women, written by Paul Lucas and directed by Jo Bonney. Performances begin today, January 19 and run through Sunday, February 5 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle St, Cambridge.

American Classical Orchestra To Perform MUSIC OF HADYN, MOZART, AND VANHAL, Today

American Classical Orchestra on Today, January 17, 2017 at 8:00PM at Alice Tully Hall will present a program of works written by some of the greatest composers of the late 18th century during their youth: Mozart, Haydn, and Johann Baptist Vanhal. Works performed will be Haydn Symphony No. 31 in D Major, 'Hornsignal'; Mozart Symphony No. 1 in E Flat Major, K 16, Mozart Piano Concerto No. 4, K. 41 in G Major and  Mozart Piano Concerto K. 107, No. 2 in G Major with pianist Audrey Axinn and Vanhal Symphony in d minor.

Lehmann Maupin Announces Solo Exhibition for Kader Attia, Today

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition for Kader Attia. This will be the New York debut of Attia's multimedia video installation, Reason's Oxymorons (2015), which premiered at the 13th Biennale de Lyon in 2015. Reason's Oxymorons is a video library comprised of 18 interviews presented within a modular cubicle environment. The interviews feature European and African ethnographers, psychiatric and philosophical practitioners, and theorists discussing topics grouped under titles including "Genocide," "Totem and Fetish," "Reason and Politics," and "Trance." On Today, January 13, there will be a media preview at 11 AM, and the gallery will host a public opening reception for the artist that evening from 6-8 PM.
