The Classics Theatre Project's Artistic Director Joey Folsom today announced casting and creative team details for the Company's inaugural production, in a new adaptation by Ben Schroth of Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard. The Cherry Orchard, directed by Joey Folsom, will run June 21 - July 14, 2018 in the Kim Dawson Theatre at the The Trinity River Arts Center.

Early 2019 will bring GOD SAID THIS by Leah Nanako Winkler (Two Mile Hollow), directed by Morgan Gould (Kentucky); and the season will conclude in Spring 2019 with LITTLE WOMEN, written by Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice), based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). Ashley Wheater, Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, proudly announces an impressive 2018-19 season featuring the world premiere of Yuri Possokhov's historic reimagining of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel, Anna Karenina, presented as part of a first-time collaboration between The Joffrey Ballet and the renowned Australian Ballet, along with a world premiere by rising urban dance star Andrea Walker, the Chicago Premiere of Wayne McGregor's Kairos and the return of two popular works by Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.

The Old Globe will present a free, one-night-only event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky, supported by the Fuson Family, on Wednesday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m. Continuing his very popular interview series, Edelstein sits down with translator/director Nelson-a great American playwright, at once a poet of the stage and an innovator of theatrical form-and Pevear and Volokhonsky-the world's foremost translators of Russian literature, and perhaps our most influential thinkers about the art of translation. They will discuss the collaborative process behind this Uncle Vanya, as well as the art of translation and bringing the classics of the stage to life for a contemporary audience.

Lifeline Theatre presents the world premiere of Anna Karenina, adapted by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Jessica Wright Buha and directed by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Amanda Link, based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy.

As Lifeline Theatre continues its 35th season, long-time Artistic Director Dorothy Milne has announced she will transition out of her leadership role during the coming year. I love my job and I won't be leaving Lifeline, Milne said. I will still be an active ensemble member and volunteer. But I'm over 60 years old and I look forward to spending more time away from a desk.

The Old Globe's 2017 2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for Anton Chekhov's masterpiece Uncle Vanya, which has received a Globe-commissioned world premiere translation from Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, andLarissa Volokhonsky. Richard Nelson (Illyria, The Gabriel Plays, Tony Award winner for Best Book of a Musical for James Joyce's The Dead) also directs. Uncle Vanya will run February 10 March 11, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run February 10 14. Opening night is Thursday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m.
