Yep Roc Records labelmates Josh Rouse and Grant-Lee Phillips will kick off a fall co-headline tour October 5, at City Winery in Nashville, TN. Touring together for the first time, the acclaimed singer/songwriters are touring in support of their newest albums, Rouse's Love in the Modern Age and Phillips' Widdershins. Indie rock legend Kristin Hersh has released a new video for 'Wonderland', animated by Wyatt True. This track is off her latest double album 'Wyatt at the Coyote Palace' (Listen on Bandcamp, Spotify or iTunes).  Released on vinyl via HHBTM Records and as a double-CD/ book combo via Omnibus Press, these songs were recorded over a 4-year period on the island where Kristin grew up.

It's a show that's done by pretty much everyone and their dog. Why? Because Larry Shue's "The Foreigner" is somewhat easy to put up (one set, manageable cast) and it's one of Shue's funnier and smarter pieces. So it's kind of a staple for smaller theaters. But while it is an easily doable show, it's not so easy to get it right. Much of it is spoken in a made up language (that has to make sense) and it's got a dark sharp edge to it that can kill the comedy. Luckily director Brian Yorkey understands that dark edge and his cast currently at Village Theatre completely get the humor of it amounting to a thoroughly solid and engaging production of an oft-produced gem.

The 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL has announced the full line-up for the January 17, 18 and 19, 2014event set to take place at venues along northwest Florida's scenic Highway 30A and the resort neighborhoods of South Walton. The 5th annual celebration will feature performances from such esteemed artists as Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Loudon Wainwright III, Ani DiFranco, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Richard Thompson, Shawn Mullins, John Oates, Jerry Douglas, Rusty Young (Poco), Jonathon Edwards, Jesse Harris, Craig Fuller (Pure Prairie League), John Gorka, Mary Gauthier, James McMurtry, Bob Schneider, Glenn Phillips Band, Matthew Sweet, Jeffrey Steele, Jim Lauderdale, Jimbo Mathus (Squirrel Nut Zippers) and Tinsley Ellis.

Playwrights Theatre is partnering with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for two months of Artist Fellowship Showcases on Thursdays in October 2013 and March 2014. All readings will begin at 7:30pm in the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library on 39 Keep Street in Madison, NJ. Readings are free with a suggested donation of $10. All tickets will be available at the door on the evening of the readings.
