The Drama League presents DirectorFest 2019: The 35th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States exploring the art of contemporary stage directing, now in its 35th year. The festival will include six fully-staged productions, a showcase evening of a new musical, discussion forums, and conversations with notable American directors. DirectorFest will take place at various locations around NYC: New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thompson Avenue, Long Island City), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks) has announced casting for DirectorFest 2019: The 35th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States exploring the art of contemporary stage directing. GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has announced the release of Miss You Like Hell - Original Cast Recording on physical CD in stores and online today, Friday, November 16. 

The Wallis Presents Playwright-Actor Keith A. Wallace's THE BITTER GAME

THE BITTER GAME,  a 'high-impact' immersive theater experience ripe with pain, poetry, and laughter that explores the experience of being black in America, debuts at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, November 14 through Saturday, November 17, 2018, outdoors on The Wallis' Promenade Terrace.

Matthew Broderick Will Host The Drama League's Benefit Gala Honoring Nathan Lane

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Stelian-Shanks) has announced the roster of special guest performers for its 35th Annual Benefit Gala: A Musical Celebration of Broadway honoring film, television, theater icon and three-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane. The black-tie evening, which will also celebrate theater producer Fran Weissler for Visionary Leadership in American Theater, will take place on Monday, November 5, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in New York City at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue). The Gala Co-Chairs are Kathy Henderson, Janet M. Kagan, and Joseph Pizza.

Applications Are Now open for The Drama League's Directing Fellowships

The Drama League opened its applications today for the 2019 Directors Project Fellowship Programs, which offer unique opportunities for early and mid-career stage directors to advance their artistry, learn new skills, stage new work, and develop their careers.  The only program of its kind in the nation, it boasts 12 different fellowships, including a new initiative in community-based theater and a new immersion in the development of new musicals.  The deadline for completed applications is 12:00 p.m. (US EST) on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Daphne Rubin-Vega, Erin McKeown & More Will Celebrate MISS YOU LIKE HELL At Joe's Pub on 10/8

GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS will celebrate the release of Miss You Like Hell - Original Cast Recording with a special concert at Joe's Pub on Monday, October 8. Original cast members Daphne Rubin-Vega, Danny Bolero, Andrew Cristi, Latoya Edwards, Marcus Paul James, and Michael Mulheren are scheduled to perform, in addition to composer and co-lyricist Erin McKeown

Art House Productions Announces 2018/2019 Season

Art House Productions announces its full schedule of arts programming from September 2018 until June 2019.  Beginning in September, Art House presents its first Artist-in-Residence: Raven Taisce White. Raven is a trans woman from South Carolina and her company, BIRDHOUSE perform a reimagining of their piece Hot Winter. Hot Winter follows five humans as they struggle to understand one another, unifying in difference and falling apart in sameness and is a surrealistic look at the performers' collective universe.

Theatrical Adaptation of DREAMING IN CUBAN in Development

Cristina Garcia is officially adapting her award-winning novel, Dreaming in Cuban, for theatrical production. She is collaborating with Adrian Alexander Alea, who most recently assistant directed The Public Theater's A Midsummer Night's Dream, to direct and produce this most anticipated piece.

Courtney Balan to Replace Emily Skinner In THE ODYSSEY

Artpark announces a casting change for the upcoming production of THE ODYSSEY. Accomplished Broadway actress Courtney Balan will replace Emily Skinner in the role of Penelope / Circe due to a family emergency.
