Following the great success of her spring engagement, dynamic singer Cindy Marchionda returns by very popular demand to The Laurie Beechman Theater for a four month series of Saturdays beginning August 15 and running also on September 5th, October 17th and November 21st with her sensational show, _'live at the beechman!'_ All shows are at 8:00. The Laurie Beechman Theater is located inside The West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street (between 9th & 10th Avenues). A convenient parking lot is located on the block. Live Broadcast, a play by John William Schiffbauer, will be presented at the 13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, a production of The Present Company. Erica Ruff will produce the presentation, which will be directed by Melissa Attebery. The cast will feature Andrea Day, Kyle Knauf, Amanda Brooke Lerner, and John William Schiffbauer. Live Broadcast was previously work-shopped as part of the Manhattan Repertory Theatre's Fall Play Festival in October 2008.

To usher in the new 2009-2010 school year at Indiana University, the IU Department of Theatre and Drama will present the collegiate premiere of The Rockae, an edgy, rock musical adaptation of Euripides' The Bacchae. The show opens Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7:30 p.m., and will be directed at IU by Emmy Award-winning director/choreographer George Pinney with musical direction by Drama Desk-nominated writer Peter Mills, who wrote the music and lyrics for the show.

August is Joan Rivers month! On August 5th, TV Land premieres 'How'd You Get So Rich?' hosted by the legendary comedian. On August 9th, the Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers will air. And on August 4th, the legendary comedian returns to Times Square for 6 performances. Rivers will present an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, and award show fashions at The Laurie Beechman Theatre inside the West Bank Cafe (407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue).

A Concert Fundraiser is being produced by Ergo Theatre Company and Erica Ruff in order to raise money for the debut CD of composer/writer Bobby Cronin. The concert will take place on Sunday, August 23 at 7PM at the Duplex Theatre (61 Christopher Street).

When she's not IN a new musical (Michael John LaChiusa's 'Giant' at The Signature Theater) or WRITING a new musical ('R.R.R.E.D. a Secret Musical' coming soon to the New York Musical Theatre Festival) Katie has spent her 'free' time writing pop songs. The concert decided the fates of those songs... because Katie is MAKING A NEW ALBUM and played through every bitter-sweet love, sexy dull-hate, and tragically funny moment she's had since 'KT LIVE' -or at least as many of them that she could fit in an hour!

The Laurie Beechman Theatre welcomes back Nick Dothée for a one-night-only concert on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm. Song for song, Dothée will interpret Counting Crows' legendary album August and Everything After.

On Monday, August 10th at 8pm, Upright Cabaret will present 'The Music of Scott Alan', an evening featuring the work of composer and lyricist, Scott Alan. This one night only concert will mark Alan's Los Angeles debut, and also be the first performance in Upright Cabaret's new venue at 'Upright Cabaret on Vermont' which is currently being renovated on Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.
