The 2009 MAC and Bistro Award winning cabaret series Cabaret Cares returns in September with DIVAPALOOZA 12.

Composer and lyricist Scott Alan returns to Los Angeles on September 19th for a one night only concert. The 11pm show, at the M Bar in Hollywood, will feature Alan accompanying himself on songs from his debut CD, ?Dreaming Wide Awake,' and his follow up CD, ?Keys.'

To usher in the new 2009-2010 school year at Indiana University, the IU Department of Theatre and Drama will present the collegiate premiere of The Rockae, an edgy, rock musical adaptation of Euripides' The Bacchae. The show opens Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7:30 p.m., and will be directed at IU by Emmy Award-winning director/choreographer George Pinney with musical direction by Drama Desk-nominated writer Peter Mills, who wrote the music and lyrics for the show.

HAIR's Costume Designer, Tony Award nominee Michael McDonald will design a HAIR-themed backpack for the Project Backpack Auction on Sept 13. Some of the best designers from Broadway, Project Runway and fashion come out to design one of a kind backpacks for Help Is On The Way Today's Project Backpack drive designer auction. Help Is On The Way Today is a non-for-profit organization that helps and assists children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. The mission of the organization is to step in when government agencies fall short. Founded by Joseph Macchia in 2006, Help Is On The Way Today works with clinics, hospitals, and group homes in the Tri State Area.

Cabaret Cares the monthly benefit series that raises funds for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today returns in August. Created in 2005 by cabaret producer Joseph Macchia Cabaret Cares was created to help raise funds for Broadway Cares. The series was then a weekly summer series at Helen's cabaret room that brought together the best of the Broadway and Cabaret community.
