Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 62nd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced today by Tony Award Winners Sara Ramirez and David Hyde Pierce at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 23 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2008 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

A free talk and book signing features Broadway: the American Musical, the newest coffee table book to highlight a great American art form. The companion book to the hit PBS special of the same name, it has received raved reviews from the press and public.
Laurence Maslon authored the companion coffee table book to the recent hit PBS series, BROADWAY: The American Musical. For that special, he also wrote two of the episodes, and the accompanying booklet for the CD set. It seemed a perfect time to check in with this theater historian on the book, the TV special, and of course - about Broadway.
