Dust off that ten-gallon hat and get ready for an evening of hootin' and hollerin' as NYMF shuts down Spanky's BBQ for The NYMF Hoedown (or, 'Musical Theater I Wish I Could Quit You') Benefit, featuring Broadway celebrities on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 8-11pm.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival's second-annual BROADWAY BATTLE OF THE BANDS competition -- an informal smackdown between bands featuring Broadway and Off-Broadway actors, writers and musicians will be presented on Saturday, May 17 at 10:30pm when three rock 'n roll bands - whose roots are onstage and in the orchestra pits of several Broadway musicals - come together for a one-night-only concert at The Zipper Factory, 336 West 37th Street in Manhattan.

Performers include Nellie McKay (The Threepenny Opera), Kerry Butler (Xanadu), John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys), Sarah Steele (Speech & Debate), Susan Blackwell (Speech & Debate, [title of show]), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy), Ben Walker (Les Liaisons Dangerouses), Jenny Powers (Grease), Jessica Grové (Sunday in the Park with George), Telly Leung (Rent), Skylar Astin (Spring Awakening), Matt Schreiber with 'Nicky' (Avenue Q), and Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening) with more to come! All celebrity appearances are subject to change.

The culmination of a five month program by Early Stages, Spring Reckoning, is an evening of original poetry and movement by students from Beacon and University Heights high schools that will take place at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street) on Monday, April 14 at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door and all proceeds go to benefit Early Stages.

TheatreworksUSA, the leading not-for-profit professional theatre for family audiences, is pleased to honor Philip Coltoff, Michael Mayer and C. Warren Moses with the Lee Salk Goodworks Award at its annual awards dinner and gala. The event begins at 6PM at New York's famed Rainbow Room, high atop 30 Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan.

2006 Relly Award winner Lauren Pritchard, currently playing Ilse in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, will return to 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on Friday, September 21 as a presenter for the 2007 Relly Awards. Pritchard will present the Relly for 'Favorite Go-Go Dancer,' the same award she won during the 2006 ceremonies.
