Nearly one hundred years after German playwright Frank Wedekind's death, his daring 1891 play, Spring Awakening, was adapted by playwright-poet Steven Sater, scored by pop singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik, and guided by visionary director Michael Mayer.
Spring Awakening, Broadway's groundbreaking Grammy winning musical hit, breaks ground again as the first Broadway show ever invited by iTunes to record a 'LIVE from SoHo' concert, joining an illustrious list of 'LIVE from SoHo' artists including; Maroon 5, Linkin Park, Counting Crows, Taylor Swift and The Decemberists. The live concert event was recorded at NYC's Apple Store/Soho on August 8 and features John Gallagher Jr., Hunter Parrish, Lauren Pritchard, Alexandra Socha, and Duncan Sheik.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival's second-annual BROADWAY BATTLE OF THE BANDS competition -- an informal smackdown between bands featuring Broadway and Off-Broadway actors, writers and musicians will be presented on Saturday, May 17 at 10:30pm when three rock 'n roll bands - whose roots are onstage and in the orchestra pits of several Broadway musicals - come together for a one-night-only concert at The Zipper Factory, 336 West 37th Street in Manhattan.

The culmination of a five month program by Early Stages, Spring Reckoning, is an evening of original poetry and movement by students from Beacon and University Heights high schools that will take place at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street) on Monday, April 14 at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door and all proceeds go to benefit Early Stages.

Warren Moses with the Lee Salk Goodworks Award at its annual awards dinner and gala. The event begins at 6PM at New York's famed Rainbow Room, high atop 30 Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan.
2006 Relly Award winner Lauren Pritchard, currently playing Ilse in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, will return to 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on Friday, September 21 as a presenter for the 2007 Relly Awards. Pritchard will present the Relly for 'Favorite Go-Go Dancer,' the same award she won during the 2006 ceremonies.
Daniel Reichard, who stars as Bob Gaudio in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys, appeared in his own concert entitled 'Summer Mix Tape' at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on Sunday, August 12 at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM.
