The time: 1950's. The place: Enrico Fermi High. Pretty girl Toffee has fallen for the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. When a freak motorcycle accident in a nuclear waste dump renders him a glowing zombie creation, he sets out to graduate high school and take Toffee to the prom. Will all of his dreams come true? Inspired by true events and based on the acclaimed 1997 documentary of the same name by S. R. Bindler, Hands on a Hardbody follows 10 hard-luck Texans searching for a new lease on life. Under a scorching sun for days on end, armed with nothing but hope, humor and ambition, each contestant fights to keep at least one hand on a brand-new truck in order to win it. In the hilarious, hard-fought contest that is Hands on a Hardbody, only one winner can drive away with American Dream.

SPOILER: The only thing better than Hairspray isn't Corny Collins, it's Hairspray Big Fat Arena Spectacular! As if this absolutely fantastic show spreading messages of acceptance and self-worth couldn't get any bigger, blonder or more beautiful, Harvest Rain has two-stepped up a notch or 500! Taking Marc Shaiman's Tony award-winning musical, based on John Waters' 1988 film, they've turned it into a large-scale visual delight complete with local young talent to sing and dance those memorable numbers alongside some of Australia's greatest stage talent legendary and emerging.

Hairspray. The Craft. Jawbreaker. Mean Girls. Can't Hardly Wait. Buffy. We would have none of these without Heathers. The flop-turned-cult-phenomenon film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater in 1988 was a black comedy that took on every young-adult issue and shot it in the face. It's perfect fodder for a musical unlike any you've ever witnessed before, rightfully making its return to Sydney after touring the nation, to shock and shine at the Sydney Opera House. We've had a few cast changes since the Australian premiere at Hayes Theatre - don't worry they're all still alive, most of them just bailed to become Queens of a new musical - and the latest cast have really sensationalised the sass, camped it up like Christmas and made the vocals so very! If you missed it last time, it's a must-see moxie-fest. If you did catch it last time, then you definitely have to get back and see how it takes on the big stage with new choreography, design and drama!

Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present the period musical drama Parade from June 10-18, 2016.

Rabbi Steven Lebow, of Temple Kol Emeth - Marietta, Georgia who has fought for Leo Frank's exoneration for decades, will be available via Skype after TYA's Sunday June 12 matinee performance for a Talkback with the audience and cast. He has graciously agreed to answer questions about the case and discuss why the Leo Frank story is important today. Also on stage will be TYA Parade cast members who will share how playing real-life people so intimately involved in this tragic story, has impacted their lives.  Join us for the show and this special event.
