And this October will prove to be no different as the merry pranksters open their latest production - a musical, no less - ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME, CARRIE. Written by Lisa Melinn and Dyan Bailey, ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME, CARRIE combines the best elements of a Judy Blume novel with the creepiness of Stephen King.

Planet Ant Theatre will kick off its 2014-2015 season September 5 with the world premiere of The Big Story of Lazarus Small by local playwright Linda Ramsey-Detherage. Emergent Arts presents its second Improv Mixer at The Mix Studio Theater , 8 N. Washington Street in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on April 11 & 12, and April 18 & 19 at 8pm each night, featuring a variety of rising improvisational acting troupes from around Southeast Michigan. A series of improv performances through REVOLVE Detroit and a group dedicated to workshopping new work by local playwrights will begin this September. It truly was 'One Wilde Night,' as approximately 250 professional thespians and their guests attended The 2013 Wilde Awards Aug. 19 at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in West Bloomfield. Through coincidences and through recurring reference in thoughtful, cogent and brief acceptance speeches, the event was very much a 'family affair.'
