Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you some cabaret highlights for this week as picked by our theatre editors, including: Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens: A Benefit Concert with Bill Russell & Friends; 54 Sings The Scarlet Pimpernel; Anneliese van der Pol and Tyce Green In Concert; Pride and Prejudice: the Musical in Concert; Christine Andreas: Cafe Society.

Atlantic Theater Company will present their Annual Gala on Monday, March 7, 2016 at The Pierre (2 East 61 Street). Actors' Choice will celebrate Atlantic's actors with a fabulous evening of unexpected songs, honoring David Richenthal and the Richenthal Foundation for their long-term support of Atlantic's mission.

On Monday, February 22, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Sierra Boggess, currently starring the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical SCHOOL OF ROCK. Boggess made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the title role of the Disney musical THE LITTLE MERMAID. She went on to star in the Broadway revival of MASTER CLASS, opposite Tyne Daily, before heading to London's West End to originate the role of Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber's LOVER NEVER DIES, the sequel to THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, following a critically acclaimed, hit world premiere engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse this fall, The Bandstand will open on Broadway in the 2016 - 2017 season starring Tony Award® nominee Laura Osnes(Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella) and Corey Cott (Newsies). Directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, In the Heights), The Bandstand features music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor. Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club presents The Legend of New York, a new musical from the Drama Desk-nominated and Larson Award-winning team of Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham (I Love You Because, Next Thing You Know) in concert performance on Monday, April 18 at 7:00pm and 9:30pm.

Shemade her Broadway debut in 2004 as the Glinda stanby in the Broadway production of WICKED, before she eventually took over the role full time. As America tuned in by the millions to watch last night's broadcast of FOX's GREASE: LIVE, some of our favorite theater stars took to Twitter to share their thoughts and reactions to the latest interpretation of the musical classic.

On Monday, February 1st, Theater People Podcast welcomes SCHOOL OF ROCK star Alex Brightman. Before being cast in the leading role in the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Brightman made his Broadway debut as an understudy in GLORY DAYS (the show that infamously closed on its opening night). He went on to replace in the role of  Boq in the Broadway company of WICKED, Michael Wormwood in the Broadway company of MATILDA, and then joined the original Broadway company of BIG FISH.

Leave it to the network that reinvented television with AMERICAN IDOL and created SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, one of the most artistically significant shows in recent memory, to figure out the proper balance in merging musical theatre and live television. FOX's GREASE: LIVE learned from three years of live, middling musicals on NBC (the satisfying WIZ LIVE! notwithstanding) and produced the best, most thrilling live TV musical in half a century.

There's no doubt “Grease” will be the word of the nation tonight, as millions of people worldwide tune into FOX for the legendary GREASE: LIVE musical broadcast.  As previous broadcasts have shown us, everyone loves to live-tweet the big show, and Broadway's best and brightest are certainly no exception! (In most cases, perhaps, they're even more likely to tweet!) 

What do you think of when someone says 'Grease'? The movie? The most recent revival? The original Chicago production? Whichever one, chances are hand-jives, summer lovin' and Sandy's iconic 'bad girl' outfit are a few things that come to mind. Grease and it's beloved Pink Ladies and T-Birds (or Burger Palace Boys, as they were originally called!) have had a long journey from Chicago to Fox's upcoming production of Grease: Live, that will air tonight, Sunday, January 31st!
