On 21 May, it was announced that Lucie Jones (Rent, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Girlfriends) and Ashley Roberts (The Pussycat Dolls, Strictly Come Dancing) will be joining the cast of Waitress, the hit musical by Sara Bareilles, from 17 June.

It is announced today that from Monday 17 June Ashley Roberts (Strictly Come Dancing 2018 finalist, The Pussycat Dolls) will be making her West End debut as Dawn in Sara Bareilles' hit musical Waitress for a strictly limited summer season. It is also confirmed that Lucie Jones (Rent, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde) will take over the role of Jenna from this date.

Audiences have ten weeks to catch the critically-acclaimed Katharine McPhee in the West End production of Waitress. The Smash and Scorpion actress will play her final performance on Saturday 15 June with new casting for the role of Jenna to be announced soon. The Tony-nominated musical by Sara Bareilles began performances at the Adelphi Theatre on 8 February and is now booking to Saturday 19 October.

Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson's 2015 musical adaptation of Adrienne Shelly's film, about a small-town waitress who processes her feelings via her skilful baking, brings its sugar and spice mixture to the West End. The result is a tasty treat - albeit with the odd ill-mixed ingredient. Hollywood Handshakes all round.
