The reimagining and recycling of Hollywood movie iconography in contemporary art, and the way that movies live on in our personal and cultural memories, are explored in the exhibition Walkers: Hollywood Afterlives in Art and Artifact, opening on November 7, 2015 at the Museum of the Moving Image. Organized by independent curator and scholar Robert M. Rubin, the exhibition includes 120 works of 40 artists and directors that dissect, appropriate, and redefine some of the past century's most iconic films through photography, drawing, sculpture, print, and video. They are joined by a selection of rare film ephemera re-positioned as artworks ranging from costume designs for Rosemary's Baby to the complete original key book stills from The 39 Steps. With a nod to the “walkers,” or zombies, from the TV series The Walking Dead, the exhibition's title references the lingering power of film detritus on the imagination of the living.

MSG Network today announced “The Garden's Defining Moments,” a special 20-part television event presented by SAP, celebrating some of the greatest moments at Madison Square Garden spanning the legendary venue's more than 135-year history.

For the sixth consecutive summer, the Garden of Dreams Foundation will host Dream Week , its week-long summer experience for 40 children (10-12 years old) from the Police Athletic League, one of its 22 partner organizations. The children will enjoy one-of-a-kind activities planned by the New York Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, MSG Networks, MSG Sports Properties and MSG Entertainment at various locations throughout the tri-state area including, but not limited to, Madison Square Garden, the MSG Training Center, Radio City Music Hall, MetLife Stadium and Stadium Tennis Center at Mill Pond Park.

When the unprecedented, $1 billion, three-year Transformation of Madison Square Garden is unveiled on Friday fans will get to enjoy a variety of unique photo displays and memorabilia exhibits throughout the Arena that celebrate and commemorate The Garden's incredible 134 history in sports, entertainment, politics and culture. For the first time, fans will also see the remaining 10 "Defining Moments presented by SAP" exhibits that showcase through amazing photos and memorabilia some of the moments that have solidified The Garden's position as The World's Most Famous Arena. MSG unveiled 10 "Defining Moments presented by SAP" in Fall 2012, which are located on the SAP Madison Concourse, and the remaining 10 exhibits will debut in the fully transformed Arena on the Garden Concourse.

The Madison Square Garden Company will unveil a fully transformed Madison Square Garden Arena on Thursday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m., marking the completion of its unprecedented $1 billion, three-year, top-to-bottom project. With the Transformation of the Garden, which began in 2011 and included three offseason shutdowns in 2011, 2012 and 2013, the most storied and historic arena in the world is now also a fully state-of-art sports and entertainment venue - a powerful combination that will ensure its position as The World's Most Famous Arena for generations to come.

Directed by Becki McDonald, who makes some excellent directing choices with her large cast of fifteen adult and children actors by combining brief oratory, traditional dialogue, and injecting cast members into the audience to DRAW viewers dead smack into the action. This created a theater experience that is equally educational, entertaining, and thought-provoking. Use of mixed media was also a component but the limitations of the performance space really hampered full immersion into the subject matter created by Robertson and Spencer in their script.

On September 27, hip-hop legends the Beastie Boys, boxing legend Larry Holmes and Knicks great Larry Johnson visited Madison Square Garden to donate memorabilia that will be featured in The Garden's new Signature Suite Level that will debut in late October as part of the third and final phase of the Arena's top-to-bottom Transformation. The NMC's Marcus Institute for Digital Education in the Arts (MIDEA) has awarded seven minigrants to museums in Texas that are creatively incorporating technologies into their programs, exhibitions, and online experiences. This funding is made possible through the New Media Consortium's (NMC) partnership with the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation. MIDEA is an organization that offers its membership of museums and cultural centers practical knowledge, tools, and online resources about innovative strategies to advance their missions. A total of $49,621 was dispersed by MIDEA to help 17 institutions purchase new equipment and fund seven technology projects.

Swiss Watchmaker Tissot launched exclusive Madison Square Garden watches during the unveiling of Tissot' s new lobby clocks in the Arena Box Office. Longtime Tissot brand ambassador, Danica Patrick, presented the first watches to Knicks' great Larry Johnson and Rangers legend, Adam Graves. Two styles of watches were created, featuring a custom case back. Tissot is the Official Timepiece of Madison Square Garden.

NBA Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Larry Bird talked about their storied basketball rivalry and their unique friendship off the court on last night's LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN. Their appearance coincided with the Opening Night of the new Broadway show MAGIC/BIRD.
