STAGE KISS, DOGFIGHT & More Set for San Francisco Playhouse's 2015-16 Season

San Francisco Playhouse Artistic Director Bill English and Producing Director Susi Damilano announced selections today for the 2015-2016 Mainstage season. Three additional world premieres will be announced soon as part of their Sandbox Series of new plays.

Stoneham Theatre is pleased to announce its Mainstage programming for Season 16. This year will showcase some exceptional not-seen-enough Broadway musicals that will have you laughing and toe-tapping, a stylish murder mystery whodunit classic, and a brand-new musical about lobstering with a book by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes and music and lyrics by Boston favorite Steven Barkhimer.

The lyrics of the opening song promise 'Something appealing, something appalling, something for everyone...tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight,' and this production certainly does not disappoint. The farcical depiction of ancient Rome is ripe with smart, comical moments, boundless energy, endless laughs and impeccable choreography.

Donmar's CITY OF ANGELS Eyeing West End Transfer

The Daily Mail writes that Donmar's artistic director Josie Rourke is in talks to transfer CITY OF ANGELS to the West End. Negotiations are in the early stages, so no word yet on a timeline or whether the original cast will travel with the show.

Sean Mathias Joins Creative Team of THE EXORCIST; Play Heading for Broadway?

BroadwayWorld has just learned that a stage version of The Exorcist is currently in the works, and Tony nominee Sean Mathias is on board to direct the project. The play, adapted by John Pielmeier, enjoyed a run at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse in 2012, starring Richard Chamberlain and Brooke Shields. Production details have not yet been announced.
