Katselas Theatre Company Presents World Premiere of A CHILD LEFT BEHIND, 4/21-5/26
by BWW News Desk - Apr 21, 2012

It was time to speak up. When LAUSD teacher and playwright Alan Aymie was given his second pink slip from the school district that he had worked for since 1998, and later 'graded' by the LA Times, he decided it was time to use his writing to provide a voice for the teaching professional. While painting a portrait of the daily challenges that teachers face in Los Angeles, Aymie also takes a look at his own experiences of trying to teach his son who was recently assessed with Asperger's Syndrome.

Canyon Moon Theatre Presents PANACHE, 2/3-20
by BWW News Desk - Feb 3, 2011

The Department of Motor Vehicles. Source of aggravation, long lines and - love? In Panache by Don Gordon inconvenience and romance intersect in a collision of surprisingly rich characters. The show runs February 3 through February 20 at Canyon Moon Theatre. This unpredictable comedy starts out simply: Kathleen Trafalgar wants a license plate with the word 'Panache' on it, but Harry Baldwin has it. She is determined to get it for her husband and is willing to pay any price for it. Nothing is as straightforward as it seems, however, and what begins as a ridiculous squabble over the seemingly unimportant turns into a sometimes bittersweet, sometimes humorous quest to salvage two lives.
