SF Sketchfest presented by Audible announces the initial line up for the 18th annual San Francisco Comedy Festival January 10-27, 2019, featuring top comedic talent performing in venues across the city. Audiences can expect another outstanding year of programming and fun as SF Sketchfest will host major comedy stars and the best up-and-coming acts from around the world for non-stop entertainment including sketch, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, tributes, live podcasts, storytelling, family shows, workshops, panels and more.

IFC announced today the launch of a new original digital comedy series, Fortune Rookie, on the Comedy Crib (ifc.com/comedy-crib), the network's online hub for original, short-form comedy. Created by and starring Janet Varney (Stan Against Evil, You're the Worst), Fortune Rookie follows a fictionalized version of Janet Varney who, on the advice of a fortune teller in a bathroom, decides to leave showbiz behind and become a full-time psychic. The eight-episode series joins the Comedy Crib's current array of acclaimed web series including Frank & Lamar, The Mirror and Neurotica.

In her own words, comedienne Gilda Radner reflects on her life and career. Weaving together her recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with friends (Chevy Chase, Lorne Michaels, Laraine Newman, Paul Shaffer and Martin Short), rare home movies and diaries read by modern-day comedians inspired by Gilda (Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Cecily Strong), LOVE, GILDA opens up a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of a beloved performer whose greatest role was sharing her story.

The popular intimate nightclub, The Sorting Room, returns this summer to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, delivering a compelling and eclectic mix of music, comedy and cabaret with nine diverse sessions from June 22 – July 21, 2018, 7 pm. The Sorting Room  transforms the Lovelace Studio Theater into a 140-seat custom built nightclub space that offers Los Angeles audiences a rare opportunity to experience some of the best and emerging talent in cabaret, live contemporary music, spoken word, and more. The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today the lineup for Celebrity Autobiography performing at 8pm Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Moody Performance Hall in the downtown Dallas Arts District. Celebrity Autobiography is a presentation of the 2018 Off Broadway on Flora season.

Taylor Ré Lynn, American actress and producer of the Golden Globe nominated film The Fencer, attended the Tribeca Film Festival World Premiere of the new Gilda Radner documentary Love Gilda. Lynn is an associate producer of the ground-breaking documentary that premiered on April 18, 2018 at the Beacon Theatre.

The National Comedy Center will celebrate its grand opening with appearances by Amy Schumer, Lily Tomlin, Saturday Night Live original cast alumni including Dan Aykroyd and more, coinciding with the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, August 1st -5th in Jamestown, New York.

It was an enchanting gathering with the Talley family at the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center's dynamite production of Lanford Wilson's 'Fifth Of July.' This Broadway classic was beautifully and intimately brought back to life by director Milton Justice. It was as if we were members of the Talley family, sitting in their backyard watching and witnessing our relatives, played by an amazing troop of fresh young actors, mix family squabble with laughter and tears.

The National Comedy Center is proud to announce the acquisition of the archive of ground-breaking comedian Shelley Berman, who passed away in September 2017 at the age of 92. The donation was formally announced during a tribute attended by Larry David, Dr. Demento, Cheryl Hines, Laraine Newman, Howard Storm, David Steinberg, Fred Willard, and Alan Zweibel, hosted by Lewis Black and presented by the National Comedy Center on Tuesday, January 30th at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California.

Playhouse Square's Outcalt Theatre and Kennedy's will be the sites for the events, featuring comedians from all across the U.S. Events include: a variety of performances as well as free comedy happy hour; a comedy class graduation performance; comedy contest finals and the Festival feature presentation, An Evening with Fred Willard.

The Television Academy has announced the names of the new inductees into its Hall of Fame. This year's honorees include Shonda Rhimes, Joan Rivers and the entire original cast of SNL.
