Encores! 20th Anniversary Season to Feature FIORELLO!, IT'S A BIRD...IT'S A PLANE...IT'S SUPERMAN, ON YOUR TOES & Gala with Esparza & O'Hara!

The 20th Anniversary season of New York City Center's Tony Award-winning Encores! series will open on January 30, 2013 with Fiorello!, the show that launched the series in 1994. The season will continue with It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, followed by On Your Toes. A Gala Encores! at 20 Celebration on November 12, 2012 will star Tony Award nominees and Encores! alumni Rauil Esparza and Kelli O'Hara.

Winners of Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition Announced

The Dallas Opera Guild's 24th Annual Vocal Competition for young opera singers ended on a high-note last evening when ten outstanding finalists (with Texas connections) were awarded a total of $20,000 in prize monies. It is only the second time this spring musical event has graced the stage of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Arts District.

Vital Theatre Company Presents THE BULLY

Vital Theatre Company will bring back THE BULLY, with music and lyrics by John Gregor, book by David L. Williams, and directed by Linda Ames Key. The show will run Saturdays and Sundays at 11am and 1pm beginning January 14th through February 26th, 2012, with weekday school holiday performances on January 16th and 27th and February 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd at 11am and 1pm. The show is appropriate for ages 4 -12. School/Group performances are available at Vital Theatre or your location

Michelle Williams to Be Honored with 'Oscar Wilde' Award

The non-profit US-Ireland Alliance has announced that actress Michelle Williams will be honored with an Oscar Wilde award. Williams, who has received rave reviews including Best Actress awards from numerous critics groups for her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe in MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, will be honored on Febuary 23, 2012 at the seventh annual 'Oscar Wilde: Honoring the Irish in Film.'

Orchestra at St. Luke's Announces Music for Remembrance Concert

Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams sets powerful poetry to intensely expressive music with a refined and assured compositional skill. Williams' texts were the Civil War poetry of Walt Whitman, a speech aiming to prevent the Crimean War by British parliamentarian John Bright, and the Bible (Book of Jeremiah).
