BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Kristin Linklater, world-renowned vocal coach and mother of Broadway veteran Hamish Linklater, passed away earlier this month in her Orkney home. She was 84 years old.

Shea's Performing Arts Center (PAC) has announced Shea's 2020 Virtual Summer Camps.

Summer is here, and that means an abundance of heat, sunshine, and creativity just waiting to be brought to life. While the global health crisis may still be keeping the doors to most theaters shut, theater companies around the country have risen to the challenge and created new doors to walk through- virtual ones!

Shakespeare & Company has announced the launch of a new book, Shakespeare & Company: When Action is Eloquence, co-written by Company Member Bella Merlin and Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer, with a special foreword by Artistic Director Allyn Burrows.

ELAN Ensemble has announced its upcoming production of Seven, a new adaptation of the documentary play. Under the direction of Natsuko Ohama with movement direction by Stephanie Shroyer, the production is set to open on Saturday, November 23, at 8pm and run through December 16 only at the Atwater Village Theatre.

Shakespeare & Company recently appointed Susan Dibble as Interim Director for the Company's Center for Actor Training. Dibble, a Founding Member of Shakespeare & Company, is an educator and artist. Her movement work was seen on stage this past season in Twelfth Night and for the past four decades she has been faculty member for the training program, teaching at the Month Long Intensive, Summer Shakespeare Intensive (formerly the Summer Training Institute), and various workshops.

'So an actor walked into my office...,' Rozanne Gates began. For over 20 years as an actor's agent in New York City at The Michael Thomas Agency, Gates had hundreds of actors walking into her office. Her job was to make the choice between who got represented and who didn't - and then to make sure that they worked successfully. Her job also included making sure that her clients understood the business aspect of acting, which can be a bit troublesome for many.

Luna Stage kicks off their new American Voices Series (and the 2019-2020 season) with Soo Jin Pretty Nail (and more!), written and performed by South Orange resident Susan Hyon and directed by David Skeist.

Shea's Performing Arts Center (Shea's) and Theatre of Youth (TOY) have launched The Actor's Edge, a pre-professional summer acting intensive for teenagers in Western New York entering grades 9-12.

Shakespeare & Company is currently accepting applications for two upcoming Actor Training Workshops in Los Angeles taught by Founding Artistic Director and Master Teacher Tina Packer. First up is the Company's classic Shakespeare Weekend Intensive (March 29 - 31), followed by a specialized Dropping In Workshop (April 5 - 7). Participants can sign up for the workshops individually or take them together at a discounted rate.

Dutch Kills Theater (In Quietness, The Sister, The Providence of Neighboring Bodies) will present the World Premiere of SELKIE by Krista Knight (Hissifit, Primal Play). Directed by Matt Dickson (Disco Pigs, We The People), performances run through December 22 at The Wild Project.

 It is with deep sadness that Shakespeare & Company announces the passing of beloved Founder and Director of Training Dennis Krausnick, who has been a leader of the Company since its inception in 1978. There will be a Public Memorial Service held on June 24, 2019 at 1:00pm on the Shakespeare & Company campus in Lenox, MA. The Company's 2019 Season will be dedicated to his legacy. 

Company of Wolves presents Achilles, created and performed by Ewan Downie. This heart-stopping fusion of storytelling, dance and song re-imagines the Greek myth, telling of a man's exorcism: a burning out of his vulnerability, his rage, and his humanity.

'You, Me, and Anxiety' is a solo cabaret show, written and performed by Rachel Schmeling, on the subject of mental health. This show is part stand up, part audience interaction, part musical journey and part panic disaster. Schmeling takes her audience on a wild one-hour ride into the mental state of someone dealing with anxiety and panic disorder.

NewYorkRep and The Telling Company have joined forces, now to be known as the 'new' NewYorkRep. In honor of the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare and the 500th anniversary of the birth of the Venetian ghetto, The Floor of Heaven interweaves moments from Shakespeare's complex and revolutionary text with the play's original music and songs from the English-Venetian soundscape that Shakespeare's characters would have played and heard.
